The Staff Software Engineer will focus on cloud technologies, working with leaders to enhance technology solutions for clients. Responsibilities include designing and implementing cloud systems, mentoring engineers, participating in technical discussions, and transforming business goals into technical designs.
This role is for a Staff Software Engineer with a specialization in Cloud technologies developer that will be reporting directly to the Director of Technology, you will work closely with our leaders to help our clients to level up in technology innovation. You will help define the technologies that we are working with and be a source of knowledge for the engineering team to help bring ideas to life. Building a digital product is a highly collaborative effort, and as such, a strong leader with a commitment to perfection is required.
What will this role do?
- Work with the other leaders at Thrillworks to help round out ideas for our clients
- Build long-term relationships with our clients by caring about their needs and designing solutions that meet their needs and exceed their expectations.
- Design, provision, integrate and implement cloud systems.
- Supporting technical discussions and mentor other cloud engineers.
- Define Cloud Architecture design and blueprints for digital applications
- Bring innovative technologies to projects and engage our clients in concepts and strategies from the initial phases of discovery to final client delivery and handoff.
- Rapidly prototype solutions to showcase Thrillworks’ progressive thinking.
- Contributing to technology strategy conversations with teams and clients.
- Demonstrate a solid understanding of how to translate business goals into detailed technical design and architecture artifacts to code-level design.
What do you need for this role?
- 7+ years hands-on in backend development, API design and data modeling
- 5+ years of designing scalable, performant, secure digital applications and services on Cloud
- 5+ years of experience in public cloud vendors like Azure/AWS/GCP products
- 5+ years of experience with architecture concepts and patterns, including Microservices, Service Oriented Architecture, RESTful JSON, SOAP XML services, etc.
- Strong understanding of Cloud Architecture Design
- 3+ years of Nextjs
- 3+ years of experience with Cloud Management and Governance
- Expert level understanding of Cloud Native architecture and services
- Addressing technical issues, resolutions and mitigations within client agreed timelines.
- 3+ years of client facing, technical leadership experience
- React, React Native, Gatsby, and/or Flutter experience an asset
