Kong is building the future of API management for developers. We’re a fast-growing, well-funded company with happy customers and motivated employees.

This role is about leading the next phase of growth for our Insomnia product. Since being acquired by Kong in 2019, Insomnia has operated as an independent product with its own go-to-market approach and was nurtured in our CTO office. Now, it’s becoming part of the product organization, an important step in integrating it as a key piece of Kong’s portfolio. In this position, you’ll guide Insomnia’s development by focusing on enhancing the core product, improving user activation flows, building enterprise features, and exploring new, innovative ideas. You’ll work closely with design, analytics, and engineering to make a real impact on how developers around the world manage APIs.

What you’ll do:

  • Define Product Strategy: Own and evolve the roadmap for Insomnia, balancing the needs of our open-source community, enterprise customers, and long-term growth goals.
  • Drive Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with design, analytics, and engineering to deliver high-impact features, ensuring everything we ship meets developer needs.
  • Be the Voice of Insomnia: Advocate for the product across teams, from presenting new ideas to leadership to demoing features for sales teams.
  • Monitor and Improve Metrics: Use data-driven insights to prioritize features, improve user activation flows, and track success across key metrics.

What you’ll bring:

  • At least 8+ years of related experience, ideally in a developer tool SaaS product or similar
  • Demonstrated experience driving revenue success of a bottoms-up product or feature
  • Proven ability to make the right decisions in both high-data and low-data situations
  • Experience managing products with a product-led motion
  • Experience working with sales and sales enablement teams
  • High agency
