Department OverviewThe Ecosystem Operations Team delivers solutions to the public safety sector. The group is committed to providing technology and tools that will allow customers to focus on their mission and enable them to respond faster with smarter and safer decisions. The group builds integrations between different products and features such as Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD), Records Management Systems (RMS), Jail Management Systems and Evidence Management, among other offerings. Interfaces are typically between Motorola Solutions, Inc. (MSI) products and third-party applications. The team is also in charge of API Enablement, providing solutions and governance over product API in the ecosystem, internally or externally exposed.
Job Description
We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to lead the development of complex software interfaces between Motorola's enterprise products and third-party systems. This role requires 8+ years of experience building scalable integration solutions using ETL architectures, microservices, and modern DevOps practices. You will architect and implement interfaces for MSI products (CAD, RMS, Real Time Command & Control, Analytics) that connect with diverse customer systems, requiring expertise in Microsoft .NET (C#), Java, REST/SOAP APIs, SQL/NoSQL databases, and Kubernetes orchestration.
The ideal candidate has extensive experience with API architecture design, DevOps automation, particularly ArgoCD, GitOps workflows, or similar CI/CD platforms for managing complex deployment pipelines. You will mentor junior engineers, drive technical decisions for mission-critical integrations, and collaborate with solution architects and the product teams to translate customer requirements into robust, production-ready systems. Strong background in transformation layer development (field mapping, filtering, business logic) and experience with public safety or enterprise software ecosystems preferred.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
8+ years of software development experience with enterprise integration systems
Expert-level proficiency in Microsoft .NET (C#) and Java programming languages
Extensive experience with REST and SOAP API development and integration
Strong background in SQL and NoSQL database technologies
Hands-on experience with microservices architecture and Kubernetes orchestration
Proven experience with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipeline management
Proven experience with API architecture
Experience with ArgoCD, GitOps workflows, or similar deployment automation tools
Experience designing and implementing ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) architectures
Knowledge of transformation layer development including field mapping, filtering, and business logic
Demonstrated ability to lead technical projects and mentor junior engineers
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work with complex system integrations
