We are looking for an ambitious, creative, and hands-on engineer to take responsibility for developing, characterizing, and improving methods of operating high-tech manufacturing equipment. You'll be working with an experienced team of mechanical, electrical, and materials engineers and will be encouraged to gain experience in different areas. The position will involve hands-on work with complex, proprietary semiconductor manufacturing equipment focused on characterizing performance and making improvements to R&D and production metrics.

Responsibilities

  • Process development and optimization of the diamond deposition process 
  • Generating ideas for process or product improvements, and creating, tracking, and evaluating experiments to test those concepts
  • A rigorous mindset that's interested in methodically exploring process conditions and making data-driven conclusions. Comprehensive knowledge of carbon-based material properties is a plus
  • Writing technical documentation to detail process changes
  • Identifying correlations between key equipment metrics and product quality

Skills

  • Advanced degree in Material Science, Physics, Chemical Engineering, or similar field
  • 10+ years of experience in process improvement for diamond CVD, PECVD, or MOCVD process
  • Well-experienced at operating and troubleshooting equipment and processes, creative problem solving, attention to detail
  • Demonstrated success in the development & implementation of innovative solutions to solve technical problems
  • Ability to extract and analyze data using tools such as SQL and statistical software such as JMP
  • Highly effective collaboration skills and adept at working in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Manufacturing and Engineering Departments Physical Requirements:

-Use appropriate PPE and follow all safety policies, practices, and procedures.

-This position will often: Sit, stand for long periods, walk, grasp, reach with hands and arms, lift below and above shoulders, bend, twist at the waist, climb, balance, stoop, squat, kneel, crawl, talk, hear, see, use fine finger manipulation, and complete repetitive motions. 

-Some tasks may require the use of ladders or stairs

-Some tasks may require driving or the use of foot controls

-Lift/carry and push/pull up to 50 pound
