Senior Capital Project Engineer

Where will you work: Belle Plaine, Saskatchewan.

(Located just a 20-minute drive from Moose Jaw and a 30-minute drive from

Regina)

The Project Engineer will manage a variety of sustaining capital projects that may be within the Refinery or Mine Area at Mosaic’s Belle Plaine facility. Tasks related to this job include preliminary or detailed project scoping, engineering design, scheduling, cost estimation, procurement, supervision, construction management, and project controls. The Project Engineer will lead projects assigned to them through collaboration and coordination with a variety of internal and external stakeholders and contract partners.  The Project Engineer will also support the Belle Plaine Operations team to help realize the strategic priorities of Mosaic, the Operations team and the Capital department. The Project Engineer will help the Belle Plaine team maintain world-class safety performance.

What you’ll do?

  • Project execution and management: scope, schedule, budget, safety, quality, contractor management

  • Engineering design (developing engineering work packages for projects)

  • Site, Capital and Department initiatives (non-project specific engineering, project management process definition)

  • Site and Mosaic initiatives to support safety, production, expansion projects and maintenance

  • Supervision, training and development of junior engineering staff (dependent on level)

What you’ll need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering - All disciplines considered. Preference for candidates with experience in Project Management, Industrial construction, and/or Upstream/Midstream Oil and Gas

  • Demonstrated leadership skills and experience

  • Engineering experience in a large industrial facility preferred

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

  • MS Office Suite, Engineering Software, SAP

  • Engineering and construction knowledge in all disciplines is an asset. Specific knowledge and experience in civil/environmental engineering is an asset (earthworks, foundation design, geo-technical investigation, site design).

  • Experience delivering projects in an operating plant or brownfield environment is an asset.

  • Employment is subject to successfully completing Mosaic's pre-employment checks including criminal, drug and alcohol testing

  • Must be authorized to work in Canada

For

  • Engineer II

    • 2+ years of engineering experience.

  • Engineer III

    • 4+ years of engineering experience.

  • Engineer Senior

    • 8+ years of engineering experience. P.Eng. required
