Job Description:

In this role you will apply your Business Systems Analysis expertise and domain knowledge to all aspects of the software development lifecycle, as well as partner continuously with several key technology and business stakeholders on a frequent basis. As a Sr. Business Systems Analyst, the ideal candidate will be needed to assist in development efforts for a large team working on projects and maintenance activities. The candidate should have experience in building requirements, developing, and supporting projects and BAU (Business as Usual) activities. A willingness to work in a fluid environment with high adaptability to change is a must for this position. The candidate should also be able to work cooperatively with cross-functional teams with direction from senior management. Solid verbal and written communication skills are required for this position

Responsibilities:

  • Translate client’s requirements to functional documentation; participate in technical designs and test planning.

  • Develop documents for IT applications, system specifications and test plans, according to existing standards and methodologies.

  • Design, prototype, code and test new or enhanced applications. Elicit the requirements needed to carry out business processes including interviews, intelligence analysis and survey assessments.

  • Perform customer support processes and activities for the implementation of new or existing applications.

  • Translate business needs, processes and procedures into a workable system, and articulate specific software requirements by communicating with technology experts and business stakeholders.

  • Monitor the efficiency and effectiveness of application operations and troubleshoot problems, as necessary.

  • Work closely with business architects and other technology staff to deliver project results while implementing risk analysis and meeting required deliverable.

  • Work with project teams, technology stakeholders, and/or vendors to ensure that the design, development, and implementation of applications programs and services meet organization’s information security, risk, change management and other policies.

  • Participate in the analysis of client needs.

  • Advise clients in the choice of functionalities.

  • Support clients in validating and understanding the analysis.

  • Communicate client requirements in functional specifications to the development team.

  • Participate in quality control and ensure the integrity of information.

  • Participate in solution implementation

  • Document the different solutions implemented (business rules, flow rules, schematics, user documentation, etc.).

  • Train and support clients in the use of the solution.

  • Align with the project delivery life cycle, completing required outputs assigned.

  • Escalate compliance concerns and advise on possible solutions.

  • Refine proposed solutions and estimate resource requirements in consultation with technology developers.

  • Build wire frames, report layouts and other artifacts to help FCOA and business and technology stakeholders understand proposed solutions and refine business and functional requirements.

  • Review and edit Business Requirement Documents, Project Planning Documents, Functional Requirement Documents and Detailed Design Documents.

  • Act as an expert resource during project initiation and execution to ensure that the project meets business objectives.

  • Perform system administrative, configuration, and reporting functions.

  • Run database queries or create reports in support of management information needs.

  • Formulate and define moderately complex system scope and objectives through research and fact-finding combined with an understanding of applicable business systems and industry requirements.

  • Ensure that process maps and documentation remain current, and that process changes are effectively led from a control perspective.

  • Create Unit test plan and test cases; participate and provide input to SIT and UAT test plans and test cases.

  • Participate in daily triages on testing and defects management with IT teams.

  • Collaborate with API modelers and development teams to design REST APIs of simple to moderate complexity."

  • Perform complex application design and programming activities using the latest techniques

Required Skills:  

  • In-depth knowledge of compliance risks and risk management, including anti-money laundering and sanctions

  • Experience developing business requirements to solve complex problems in consultation with business partners

  • Experience writing detailed business requirements and functional requirements

  • Knowledge of SQL and experience analyzing data preferred

  • Strong Office 365 and presentation skills

  • Effective use of collaboration tools

  • Effective presentation and documentation skills.

  • Good organization and planning skills

  • Strength in problem-solving skills with the ability to continually learn new concepts and technologies and effectively apply them

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences

  • Technical skills in Visio, Confluence, and Excel.

  • Ability to multi-task and be flexible

  • Ability to work independently or within a team for problem resolution

  • Detail-oriented

  • Ability to interface effectively with all levels of the organization

  • Ability to express complex technical concepts in business terms in written or verbal form"

  • Deep experience in the banking or finance industries preferred

  • Understanding of regulatory environment and compliance concerns preferred

  • Experience with focus on risk management, risk modelling, and/or knowledge of regulatory requirements of institutional banking highly desired

  • Experience working closely with business teams to understand requirements

  • Experience working in a systematic project management delivery process

  • Experience presenting to senior stakeholders

  • Experienced in SDLC methodologies including Agile, waterfall, or other delivery methodology

  • Proven ability to solicit, define, and deliver business requirements

  • Experience defining creative solutions to meet business needs

  • Experience delivering complex projects

  • Knowledge of REST APIs and Cloud Technology is highly desirable

  • Experience with JIRA and Agile project delivery

  • Experience in creating test plans and test cases and verify test results against requirements.

Preferred Skills:  

  • Project management, Business Analysis and/or BAU (Business as Usual) activities

  • Participate in the review, analysis and documentation of business systems and user needs. 

  • Develop documents for IT applications, system specifications and test plans, according to existing standards and methodologies.

  • Support the collection, documentation and maintenance of functional requirements and modeling.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Finance or a closely-related discipline, or an equivalent combination of formal education and work experience.

  • Professional certifications in AWS Cloud Practitioner/Developer and Object-Oriented Programming languages.

Other Qualifications

  • As per MUFG’s work policy, must work onsite 4 days and 1 day remotely out of either New York, NY, Jersey City, NJ, Tempe, AZ, or Tampa, FL office.

The typical base pay range for this role is between $100K - $120K depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location. This role may also be eligible for certain discretionary performance-based bonus and/or incentive compensation.
