As a Sourcing Specialist, you support the development process from seasonal kick-off through to production readiness. Your innovative and details-focused approach to research, evaluate, onboard, and support new vendors ensures Arc’teryx has a qualified and diversified supply matrix as we expand our manufacturing capability and drive continuous improvement in innovation, agility, quality, and cost. Your innovative and solutions-focused approach to sourcing ensures that each product you work on meets Arcteryx design and merchandising intent, cost and margin targets, supply chain requirements, and contributes to our ability to scale in a skilled capable manufacturing base.

The Sourcing Team are passionate about product, cost, and details. We partner closely with our vendors to ensure products meet cost and quality expectations, while supporting our sourcing strategies. You will partner internally with Design, Product, Quality, Compliance, Supply Chain, Sustainability as well as externally with our vendor partners to identify and fulfill the sourcing needs of your category and deliver all product developed and commercialized by our vendors.
If you were the Sourcing Specialist now, here are some of the core activities you would be doing:
- Researching and assessing new vendors to support sourcing and product strategies
- Providing product cost evaluation and cost negotiations for new vendors to meet and/or exceed cost standards
- Collecting and maintaining sourcing and vendor information databases and tools
- Supporting the onboarding of new initiatives to ensure their successful integration into the Arc’teryx supply chain
- Supporting Sourcing, Product Development, and Quality in the training of new factory resources and ensure that Arc’teryx brand standards are met
- Contributing to the development process by ensuring successful integration of new initiatives into the Go To Market calendar
- Collecting and maintaining data related to vendor performance to drive informed decision-making and process improvements.
- Generating regular reports and presentations to share sourcing insights with cross functional teams and senior management.
- Staying informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and innovations in the apparel sector
- Upholding Fair Labor Association’s Workplace Code of Conduct and Principles of Fair Labor and Responsible Sourcing throughout the Arc’teryx supply chain.
- Working closely with the Amer Sports Global Sourcing Vendor Sustainability team on quarterly business reviews and training/capacity building (at least annually).
- Adhering to negotiated lead times and balanced annual capacities to expedite responsible purchasing practices as outlined in the Responsible Sourcing Policy.

Are you our next Sourcing Specialist?
- You have 5+ years’ experience in product development (developing product/process) or sourcing, with a focus on technical, innovative apparel and equipment
- You have an Undergraduate Degree OR equivalent industry training, certification, or related business experience
- You have experience effectively communicating with, and travelling to domestic and offshore vendors and manufacturers
- You have experience in product costing and negotiation skills
- You have a comprehensive understanding of design intent, product aesthetics, construction, production and fit
- You have a complete understanding of the product lifecycle process - from ideation to consumer
- You have a strong knowledge of raw materials, technical construction, and sourcing
- You are detailed and accuracy oriented with strong organizational skills
- You demonstrate initiative, agility and commitment
- You are proactive in identifying the root cause of issues and developing solutions
- You are goal driven with a results-oriented attitude
- You effectively balance autonomy and collaboration
- You remain highly flexible and adaptable when faced with ambiguity
