About the Role

As an Engineering Manager at Whippy, you will:

Start by spending at least one-third of your time coding and building new product.

Over time, you will work with the CTO to manage and scale our engineering team and best practices. Somethings you should have experience doing are.

  • Working and communicating with a team in a remote environment.

  • Conduct regular 1-1s and help unblock engineers as needed.

  • Help to manage a hiring pipeline and conduct technical interviews.

  • Conduct code reviews and aid engineers in releasing new features quickly and reliably.

About you

1+ years of experience as an engineering manager at a start-up in a remote engineering team environment.

A desire to be a part of the entire project development process. From research gathering and planning to implementation and monitoring.

Great written and verbal communication skills for expressing ideas, designs, and potential solutions in a mostly asynchronous manner.

What do we offer?

Compensation is $80K-$100K/year based on experience

Opportunity to take on significant responsibility and ownership in a highly disruptive product.

Working hands-on with serial entrepreneurs who have created $100M+ valued companies

What to know?

To provide transparency, here are some important points to note about the position:

  • We are a startup, and our team dynamics differ from those of companies in different sizes and stages. Our team is distributed across the globe, and this distributed nature will continue to grow. This means that there is always something happening, so effective time management in a remote and asynchronous engineering environment is essential.

  • While English is the second language for many engineers on the team, fluency in written English is a requirement. While fluency in spoken English is also a plus, if you are not confident in your written English ability, please do not apply.

  • We hire globally regardless of timezone, but we have team meetings on Mondays and Fridays at 2:30 pm GMT. If you are unable to be online during these hours, please do not apply.

  • Pay is determined by role, level, location, and alignment with market data. Individual pay will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: interviews and an assessment of several factors that are unique to each candidate, job-related skills, relevant education and experience, certifications, and the abilities of the candidate.

What’s the process?

Here's the entire process if selected after a CV screen.

  1. Submit your Resume or CV

  2. Video call to talk about your experience and the role.

  3. Meet the team and review work.

  4. Full Time Position Offer extended.
