We are looking for a hands-on Software Engineering Manager to join our Development System team. In this role, you will technically lead a team of Software Developers to design, develop, test, and deploy improvements to our software development system. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills particularly in the area of developer tooling.
Job Description
Responsibilities include:
- Management and leadership of multiple scrum teams.
- Spearhead the development and enhancement of our development systems and toolchains.
- Champion continuous improvement: Identify and implement opportunities to refine our tools, technologies, and workflows.
- Proactively remove roadblocks and ensure teams have the resources they need to excel.
- Work with the product owner to maintain the product backlog
- Ensure we have the mixture of skills required to build the features in the product backlog
- Provide technical leadership and coaching to teams.
- Seek opportunities for continuous improvements in our tools, technologies and processes.
- Unblock teams by providing the resources required for them to be successful.
- Manage up, down and across the organization to align on our goals.
- A strong proponent of the Agile mindset
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience managing and leading development/DevOps teams
- 5+ years of hands-on development experience in an Agile environment
- Solid foundation in computer science fundamentals and software engineering best practices
- BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent experience
- Strong understanding of Agile and the experience to back it up
Target Base Salary Range: $73,500 - $165,000 CAD
Consistent with Motorola Solutions values and applicable law, we provide the following information to promote pay transparency and equity. Pay within this range varies and depends on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The actual offer will be based on the individual candidate.
