Description

Come help us build the Newrich Network - the internet’s newest platform designed to inspire and guide people toward living the Newrich Lifestyle.

At Newrich, we practice what we preach: living the Newrich Lifestyle means not only enjoying what you do for a living, but also prioritizing true work-life balance.

As a member of our team, your physical, mental, and spiritual well-being will be a priority. We deeply believe that a fulfilled life starts with balance - and we’re committed to creating a work environment that supports exactly that.

About the role

At Newrich we provide e-learning, turn-key solutions, and mentorship for digital entrepreneurs. Our core offering is a hybrid SaaS + educational platform + social network.

We’re looking for a Software Engineering Manager with strong hands-on experience in React and PHP to lead a small team of engineers. The role is approximately 80% team management/project leadership and 20% hands-on coding, so you’ll need to be confident both in guiding others and in rolling up your sleeves to contribute to development when needed.

Experience with AWS (or a strong understanding of cloud infrastructure) is highly desirable.

Requirements
  • Drive the technical roadmap for the team in close collaboration with the PM and the product roadmap.
  • Manage and improve systems to maintain high service availability for our customers.
  • Act as the glue for execution (organizing sprint planning, standups, retrospectives) to foster effective collaboration with the company.
  • Mentor, support, and grow a team of ~5 engineers.
  • Lead by example with high-quality contributions in React and PHP (about 20% of your time).
  • Maintain a healthy team culture characterized by trust and psychological safety.
  • Collaborate with Recruiting to grow the team.
  • Coordinate resolution of production incidents.
What you'll need
  • 3+ years of experience managing small teams of engineers.
  • 5+ years of software development experience, including strong hands-on skills with React and PHP.
  • Experience building SaaS products.
  • Familiarity with AWS and cloud infrastructure best practices (strong plus).
  • Experience building or designing any of the following systems: social networks, messaging applications, ERP systems or CRMs.
  • Proven track record leading diverse and distributed teams.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent (advanced degrees a plus).
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced Agile environment with ambiguity.
  • Excellent communication skills and leadership abilities.
Why you'll love it here
  • Customer First: We solve real problems, making every interaction meaningful.
  • Be an Owner: We take pride in our work and drive improvements.
  • Act with Urgency and Purpose: We move quickly and simplify as we go.
  • Drive Results Together: We choose teamwork and shared success.
  • Embrace the Journey: We dream big and innovate boldly.

We provide a competitive salary range for this role - which is 130,000 - 160,000 CAD - depending on level and experience. Please note this range is intended as a guide, not a guarantee. Final compensation will be based on individual qualifications, relevant experience, and the scope of the role.

Benefits
  • Competitive base salary
  • Profit Sharing Pool (4%)
  • Comprehensive PTO and Sick Days package
  • Flexible remote work hours.
  • Annual company retreat for team building and collaboration
