We show up consistently, stay purpose-driven, and achieve results —together, from anywhere.

What the Role Is

Babylist is seeking a Full Stack Software Engineer III to join our Commerce team. This team owns Babylist’s global shopping experience, helping users build the best registry with products that truly fit their needs. The team also manages the infrastructure that powers purchasing products directly from Babylist. Key product areas include Registry, Babylist Shop, Cart, and Checkout.

As a Software Engineer, you will work with our product and design teams to shape new product initiatives and deliver on new functionality.

Who You Are

  • A high-performing engineer with 3+ years of experience and a proven track record of delivering end-to-end solutions that drive business growth
  • Thrive in a rapidly growing environment and are excited to lead business-critical projects that unlock new capabilities
  • A talented engineer with experience in Ruby on Rails and React, eager to further develop your craft and the quality of your work
  • Possess a growth mindset, excellent communication skills, and a hunger to learn new things
  • Experience in e-commerce or consumer applications is a plus but not required
  • Able to work effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, with a collaborative approach to problem-solving
  • Capable of strong execution, shaping and delivering small projects independently, and have good systems thinking

How You Will Make An Impact

  • Work closely with product managers and design to implement and deploy systems to support and scale user shopping experiences, research and recommendation, personalizing and extending the Registry experience
  • Provide thought leadership around process, tooling, systems, and software architecture. We benefit by more knowledge and learning how others solve problems. You will feel excited to bring in new ways of solving problems
  • Improve and help maintain existing systems. Friction in the development process slows us down and has a large opportunity cost. We see value in taking time to create maintainable systems and remove hurdles from the development process
  • Working in a close, supportive team solving real world problems and making decisions

Why You Will Love Working At Babylist

  • We invest in the infrastructure you’ll need to be supported and successful: tools, opportunities to connect with colleagues, and a stipend to help you set up your office
  • We build products that have a positive impact on millions of people’s lives
  • We work at a sustainable pace which means work/life balance is a real thing here
  • We believe technology and data can solve hard problems
  • AI plays a meaningful role in how we work, create, and scale—intentionally embedded in our tools, systems, and decision-making to support innovation and real impact
  • We believe in exceptional management
  • We offer competitive pay and meaningful opportunities for career advancement
  • We have great benefits like company paid medical, dental, and vision and a generous paid parental leave policy
  • We care about employee wellbeing with perks for physical, mental and emotional health, parenting, childcare, and financial planning

Babylist follows a market-based approach to compensation, with pay varying based on location, experience, and qualifications. In compliance with applicable pay transparency laws, the starting salary range for this role is CAD $135,250.00 to $169,000.00, representing the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably expect to offer for this position.
