About the Team
The SandboxAQ AI Generation Engine (SAIGE) team's mission is to accelerate SandboxAQ’s mission of “Deep Impact at Scale," with a focus on quantitative AI and rapid prototyping. More specifically, the SAIGE team aims to:
- Build next-generation AI capabilities that establish SandboxAQ as the global pacesetter in quantitative AI.
- Identify, incubate, prototype, and launch new AI products for high-potential and longer-term use cases, proving (or disproving) their viability as high-impact, highly profitable business lines.
- Support internal AI teams and help build new AI applications and infrastructures across SandboxAQ’s business units.

About the Role
We are looking for a hands-on Software Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be instrumental in building innovative systems and prototypes from the ground up. You will have the opportunity to work on full-stack development projects, contributing to both front-end and back-end components. This position is ideal for an engineer who is passionate about tackling new problems, moving quickly from concept to tangible proof-of-concept, and making a significant impact in the rapidly evolving field of AI.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and improve software systems, agents and cutting-edge AI prototypes.
- Collaborate with researchers, product managers, and other engineers to translate ideas and research into functional and scalable products.
- Build full-stack applications, with opportunities to work on all parts of the technology stack.
- Embrace rapid iteration and agile methodologies to quickly deliver and test new features and products.
- Contribute to the team's culture of innovation, continuous learning, and knowledge sharing.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Proven experience as a Software Engineer with a strong track record of building and shipping high-quality software.
- Hands-on experience with both front-end and back-end technologies.
- Proficiency in one or more general-purpose programming languages (e.g., Python, JavaScript, TypeScript)
- Experience with building and working with prototypes and iterating quickly based on feedback.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Meaningful experience with front-end development frameworks and libraries (e.g., React, Angular, Vue.js).
- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., GCP, AWS, Azure) and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
- Proficiency with AI tools for coding (e.g., Cursor, GitHub Co-Pilot)
- Experience in a startup or fast-growing technology company.
The US base salary range for this full-time position is expected to be $167K - $234K per year. Our salary ranges are determined by role and level. Within the range, individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. This role may be eligible for annual discretionary bonuses and equity.
