About the Role:
Global Network (GNET) is looking for an SDE I to join Remitly and help scale their network management services and network management tooling worldwide. As an SDE I, you will bring exciting features to our customers. You will help shape and build a roadmap of full-stack features to enhance the performance of our pay-in and pay-out networks globally. You will report to an Engineering Manager for Global Network Experience and Performance (GNX) and will work on projects that support both efficient manual network performance management (tooling UIs, validation services, and engaging operations engineers for manual configuration changes) and automated network management (supported by machine learning, automated network monitoring, and "intelligent routing".) We support hybrid work, and you will work 50% of your time each month with your team in our New Westminster office. #LI-Hybrid
You Will:
- Develop front-end tooling components that allow developers to easily build delightful internal user interfaces for managing our dynamic pay-in and pay-out networks
- Develop back end features to share data on network status and configuration, and to provide an enhanced customer experience by validating transaction data before it enters our global network.
- Partner with operations engineers and non-technical team members to evaluate and provide technical recommendations for resolving customer-facing problems
- Become an expert on the tools, programming languages, and engineering processes that GNX and the broader GNET team use to eeliver well-tested, observable, documented, efficient, scalable, and resilient solutions
- Contribute to a culture of engineering excellence and quality, including participating in interviewing, code reviews, and ramping new hires.
You Have:
- A BS in Computer Science or equivalent professional experience
- 1+ years of experience shipping high-quality products using JavaScript or TypeScript
- Expertise in React OR experience in multiple alternate front-end frameworks
- 1+ years of experience building, shipping, and maintaining services on AWS
- Exposure to one or more general-purpose languages (Java, TypeScript, Go, Python, PHP, etc.)
- Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab, etc.), automated testing, and technical best practices
Compensation Details. The starting base salary range for this position is $$88,000 - $99,000 In Canada, Remitly employees are shareholders in our Company and equity is part of our total compensation plan.
