Job Description

Job Summary

As a member of the team reporting to the Vice President, Engineering and Client Services, you will possess relevant technical expertise in some combination of software design, programming, communication technologies, networking, and testing. Responsibilities will vary based on technical specialization and project needs. Developers will contribute to software release and test processes.

Ideal candidates will have experience with modern software design, development and testing. An interest in coordinating both test and release processes for a modern software-defined networking system is required. Must have experience with automated source control, documentation, test, and build systems. As well, knowledge of industrial automation systems, industrial protocols at the hardware and application layers, and the application of security in distributed system architectures will be beneficial.

Desired Skills and Experience 

• Usability and UI testing

• Exploratory testing methods

• Performance optimization

• Network performance testing and debugging

• OS-application integration and validation

• Software test automation

• Test procedure development

• Code monitors, profilers, and debugging tools

• At least 5 years relevant QA experience

• Fluent knowledge of object-oriented programming languages such as C/C++, Java, and Python (experience with C# would also be considered)

• Experience in simulation or quality control processes

• Capabilities applying hardware and software security models across several market domains including defence, manufacturing, utilities, transportation and medical

• Familiarity with industrial system design and implementations such as SCADA

• An understanding of the needs and challenges of Big Data and the Industrial Internet (IIoT)

• Strong written and oral communication skills

• BA computer science or equivalent

• Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective professional working relationships

• Proven technical leadership in software development
