    ABOUT THE ROLE

We’re hiring a Software Architect to work closely with our Web Development Manager to elevate the technical quality, delivery speed, and maintainability of our digital products.

Salary Range: $85,000 - $100,000 CAD annually, based on experience and qualifications.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Own the architecture of our core systems – websites, APIs, personalization layer, and internal tools.
    • Break down projects into well-scoped tickets, prioritize tech work, and maintain a clean backlog.
    • Act as a product owner proxy by clarifying requirements, writing specs, and communicating with stakeholders.
    • Support delivery through robust CI/CD (Cloud Run, Cloud Build) and coordinate deployments.
    • Conduct code reviews and participate in QA and production release processes.
    • Mentor developers, guide implementation, and help resolve blockers.
    • Bring humility — know when to ask questions and how to find the right answers collaboratively.

    Technical Skills

    • Frontend: React, Next.js, Tailwind
    • Backend: Node.js, Express
    • Infrastructure: Google Cloud Platform (Cloud Run, Cloud Build, BigQuery)
    • CMS: DatoCMS (or comparable headless CMSs with GraphQL API)

    REQUIREMENTS

    • 7+ years of experience in software development, including senior or staff-level roles.
    • Skilled in frontend development with React and Next.js and backend Node.js APIs.
    • Experienced in system architecture, cloud infrastructure, and scalable design patterns.
    • Strong CI/CD knowledge and experience shipping to production.
    • Proven track record in code reviews, release coordination, and QA.
    • Excellent communicator who thrives in a collaborative, cross-functional environment.
    • Mentorship-oriented and naturally supportive of junior developers.
    • Self-aware, humble, and thoughtful about trade-offs and team dynamics.
