Job Description

As a Shop Technician, you will work in Quality Control (QC), Material Sorting, CNC Workstations, Accessories, and Assembly.

Position Overview
Reporting to the Working Shop Supervisor, the Shop Technician is a specialized role. This position involves operating woodworking machines, using hand tools, preparing measurements, and reading and understanding shop drawings.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Set up and maintain multiple workstations, including edgebanders, assembly, CNC machinery, QC, sorting, and accessories.
  • Perform regular maintenance tasks, such as lubricating and cleaning equipment.
  • Use precision measuring instruments, such as calipers and measuring tapes, to verify and compute dimensions of finished pieces, ensuring they match the Bill of Materials (BOM).
  • Demonstrate knowledge of building materials, including colors and thicknesses.
  • Read and interpret shop drawings and blueprints accurately.
  • Ensure attention to detail and maintain a strong focus on safety.
  • Practice good housekeeping to maintain a safe and clutter-free worksite.
  • Perform material handling tasks, including counting, sorting, packing, and unpacking.
  • Proactively communicate job conditions and concerns that may affect the completion of the job.


Qualifications

  • Work hours are from 10:00 AM to 6:30 PM, Monday to Friday.
    Occasional overtime and Saturday work may be required. Flexibility is appreciated.

  • Skill development is based on demonstrated competence and written certification.
  • Problem-solving is a key component of effective production.
  • English proficiency: Ability to speak and read English.
  • Physical fitness: Must be physically fit and able to lift up to 50 pounds.
