Group Summary:
The Mechatronics, Mirrors and Lighting group specializes in automotive technologies that are driving the future of mobility. Job Responsibilities:

· Oversee and guides tooling improvement modifications with team

· Utilize toolmakers and team leaders to assist or complete critical tooling through TRN process

· Manage, monitor and analyse key tasks, activities and cost through the multiple phases of the tool modification process

· Outline timing, monitor and report (monthly) all activities (internal and external)

· Total program costs/budgets

· Creates tooling PFMEA’s on all new projects

· Disposition of obsolete tooling with OEM’s

· Manage Open issues (tooling related – departmental / TRN’s )

· Meeting report outs

· Coordination of cross-functional team responsibilities (internally and externally) for tooling issues.

· Involvement in customer negotiations

· Manage spare component acquisitions for all new tooling projects

· Assist in Departmental Process Changes

· Maintain / monitor all electronic tooling records. Provides directions to other tooling specialists

· Provide toolmakers with drawings

· Meet or exceed budget and improve contribution margin

· Utilise Company and Customer Timing Plans, Time/Resource Activity Plans

· Provide guidance to Management in all Program tooling related decisions.

· Assist in ensuring spares are set to correct minimum/maximum levels at the beginning of all new programs.

· Assist in set up of PM for tooling

· Maintain a confidential and professional demeanour at all times

· Work in a safe manner at all times including the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

· Abide by company rules and policies as set out in the Employee Handbook

· Meet all customer commitments and all customer milestones

· Update Lessons Learned database

· Provide direction on current production tooling to help resolve issues.

· Perform other duties as required
 

Qualifications Required:

· Certified Tool and Die Maker with 5 years of experience

· 7 years minimum of design experience

· Fully knowledgeable in VISI or related CAD software

· Full understanding of GD&T principles and CMM layouts

· Well organized and follow design best practices

· Good problem-solving skills

· Capable of multi-tasking many projects at once

· Must have capability to create tooling PFME'S

· Project management experience considered an asset

· Experience in the field of high volume production mechanical devices

· Cross function experience, including Quality Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Design and Financials

· DFSS and/or six sigma experience preferred

· Familiar with the following tools: D/PFMEA, DFM, VA/VE, DOE, DVP&R, PPA
 

Salary Range:
​$95,000 - $105,000
