The Distributed Data Storage and Management Lab leads research in distributed data systems, aiming to develop next-generation cloud serverless products that encompass core infrastructure and databases. This lab addresses various data challenges, including cloud-native disaggregated databases, pay-by-query user models, and optimizing low-level data transfers via RDMA. Teams within this lab create advanced cloud serverless data infrastructure and implement cutting-edge networking technologies for Huawei's global AI infrastructure.

Responsible for leading innovation in large-scale distributed data systems and AI + big data technologies, with the goal of building industry-leading capabilities into the company’s core products and driving commercial success through concept, architecture, and technical innovation.
Responsible for driving technological breakthroughs in distributed data systems by integrating cutting-edge ideas from academia, industry, and the open-source community, and leading the planning of technology direction, architecture design, and key innovations.
Responsible for implementing critical technologies in the company’s mainstream business scenarios, supporting the creation of flagship products across various domains, and exploring new business opportunities and monetization models.
Responsible for developing the ecosystem around distributed data systems, defining ecosystem development strategies and execution plans to build strong industry influence.
The base salary for this position ranges from $190,000 to $350,000 depending on education, experience and demonstrated expertise.
About the ideal candidate:
Master's or PhD Degree in Computer Science or related fields such as Mathematics, Computer Engineering.
8+ years of work experience in the related fields such as Distributed Systems.
Strong capability in system architecture and technological innovation, with a deep understanding of the latest industry advancements in distributed data systems.
Proven track record of successful projects and professional expertise in related domains, with the ability to lead complex initiatives to success.
Familiar with the current trends, challenges, and applications in the field of distributed data systems and AI data infrastructure.
Excellent strategic thinking, cross-team collaboration, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to transform advanced technologies into competitive business solutions.
