We are looking for well-rounded backend engineers who are passionate about building and delivering reliable, scalable microservices and infrastructure for SaaS products.
As one of the main architect on the team, you will be integral in building this product and will be part of an agile team that is in startup mode. This is a unique opportunity to build something from scratch but have the backing of an organization that has the muscle to take it to market quickly, with a very satisfied customer base.
Responsibilities
Produce designs and rough estimates, and implement features based on product requirements.
Partner with cross-functional teams to design, build, and deliver high-quality software.
Provide hands-on technical leadership, ensuring the team focuses on the right problems and builds practical, right-sized solutions without adding unnecessary complexity.
Review code and offer constructive, actionable feedback to maintain high engineering standards.
Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues across the stack.
Lead POCs, research new tools, frameworks, and methodologies to enhance team efficiency.
Thrive in a dynamic environment, staying effective while juggling multiple concurrent priorities
Share support of critical team systems by participating in on-call rotation.
Requirements
12+ years of professional software development experience
Strong Java experience
Deep Experience working with one or more from the following: Cloud/AWS, IAM/IGA, Compliance, Security and Privacy
Advanced experience with large scale databases, and related technologies.
Expertise with messaging, queues, and events, such as Redis or Kafka
Deep understanding of modern architectural patterns for SaaS systems (e.g., microservices, event-driven architecture, distributed systems).
Strong communications skills, including the ability to understand requirements and persuasively articulate technical solutions at the appropriate level of technical depth.
Excellent interpersonal skills and a positive, "can-do" attitude.
Independent, highly motivated engineer who drives work forward with minimal oversight
Advanced experience with an object-oriented programming language and techniques
BS in Computer Science, or a related field
Preferred
Familiarity with big data ecosystems, including Airflow-based ETL workflows, data lake architectures, or platforms like Snowflake, Databricks, or cloud-native data-lake services
Experience with Continuous Delivery
Hands-on experience building and tracking service-level objectives (SLOs) with contemporary monitoring/observability platforms (e.g., Grafana, Prometheus, Datadog)
Familiarity with AI/Machine Learning
Experience instrumenting code for gathering production performance metrics
Benefits and Compensation listed vary based on the location of your employment and the nature of your employment with SailPoint.
As a part of the total compensation package, this role may be eligible for the SailPoint Corporate Bonus Plan or a role-specific commission, along with potential eligibility for equity participation. SailPoint maintains broad salary ranges for its roles to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect SailPoint’s differing products, industries, and lines of business. Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity. We estimate the base salary, for US-based employees, will be in this range from (min-mid-max, USD):
$151,100 - $215,800 - $280,500Base salaries for employees based in other locations are competitive for the employee’s home location.
