As a Senior Software Engineer, you will develop improvements to our core business process through automation. This role focuses on identifying key use cases throughout our business processes and working with other employees to automate and improve them. You will work with various customers throughout our business to make our essential operations robust, safe, and easy to use. You will work with a variety of technologies to become a versatile developer, get things done, and improve our business.

Responsibilities
- Automate and improve high-stakes business workflows, integrating enterprise systems to ensure robust and compliant operations.
- Guide and support the growth of other engineers on the team by mentoring them and sharing your expertise, best practices, and knowledge.
- Work closely with your colleagues – i.e., your customers – to understand areas for improvement and develop plans.
- Automate and improve partially automated high-stakes business workflows to ensure the success of our business.
- Work with stakeholders and other engineers to design and implement solutions in ambiguous problem spaces.
- Design high-quality systems that work reliably.
Requirements
- 5+ years of backend and/or full-stack software engineering experience.
- Exceptional verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts clearly.
- Proven ability to design, develop, and deploy back-end applications based on provided specifications.
- Strong stakeholder communication skills, effectively engaging with individuals at varying levels of technical fluency.
- Excellent project management abilities, including setting realistic timelines, communicating progress, and delivering on commitments.
- Collaborative mindset, with enthusiasm for working in diverse teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline.
- Authorization to work in Canada.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with modern deployment and build tooling, such as Kubernetes, Bazel, Apache Airflow, etc.
- Experience designing and building applications aimed towards non-technical stakeholders.
Compensation
The base salary range for this position is $175,000 to $220,000 in the location(s) of this posting. Individual salaries are determined through a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and geography. Base salary does not include other forms of total compensation, such as bonus compensation and other benefits.
