Vox Media is seeking a social video leader who understands the ever-changing social media landscape & is highly organized, creative, ambitious, innovative individual to join the lifestyle pod at Vox Media.

Directly reporting to the Supervising Producer, Social Video, Lifestyle, the ideal candidate has had experience creating social series across various platforms. The candidate should be strong in ideation as well as in physical and post-production. The Senior Social Video Producer will work across many of the video social franchise series, event coverage, & sponsored videos. Our ideal candidate can balance the physical work while staying on the pulse of social platform changes and trends, along with being a self-starter and team leader.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

Sponsorships: Assist with coordinating, producing, and delivering social videos for specific sponsorship campaigns. (Working alongside Supervising Producer)
Talent Management: Oversee & work alongside Supervising Producer and Head of Production to manage a network of creators for social video across the lifestyle pod

Platform Management: Work alongside Aud Dev Directors to make sure video content is published in a timely manner. Assist in programming and managing the calendar. Occasional publishing for certain brands and platforms. Work with social leadership on platform strategy, ideation, and execution

Content: Create social videos both as an individual producer and with Editorial talent as needed. Collaborating with other video leads, editorial leads, and audience directors to ensure we deliver the highest quality content possible. As well as:

  • Develop new social video ideas for repeatable series
  • Produce and shoot in the field weekly 
  • Edit 1-2 social videos per week 
  • Stay on top of trends & current moments and pitch video ideas as you see fit
  • Work with various department heads on big initiatives and brand programs

 

WHO YOU ARE

Our ideal candidate is a media enthusiast who loves to stay on top of the latest trends. They love social video but can also look at it with a skeptical eye and know not every trend is for them. They have an interest in storytelling, culture, and community.

  • At least 6+ years of hands-on relevant experience in video/social production
  • 5+ years experience producing video content for short-form social platforms
  • Must be comfortable on set and in the field and demonstrate tact and professionalism around celebrity guests and brand partners
  • Strong writing and communication skills
  • Expert in Adobe Suite (Premiere, Photoshop, etc.)
  • Expert in developing social concepts for video
  • Strong understanding of video analytics on the platforms and the impact they play
  • Strong experience with sponsored video concepts 
  • Both high-end and low-fi shooting capabilities for social
  • A genuine passion for social media content creation and its innovation
  • Demonstrated leadership and at least 2-3 years experience in a senior role
  • Previous Talent or Creator management experience including working with agents
  • Ability to work across different brands and on different platforms
  • Strong storytelling capabilities 
  • An understanding that social video changes rapidly

All staffers at Eater work across Eater’s umbrella of brands (Eater, Punch, Pre Shift, Thrillist) on a variety of platforms (on-site, social video, newsletter, the app, and more), should be comfortable dining out for work and filing dining reports afterward, and should be willing to participate in social video, including potentially appearing on camera. Additionally, staffers are expected to represent Eater at industry events, brand events, and media and press opportunities.

PAY TRANSPARENCY

The salary range listed below represents the minimum and maximum base pay for this position at the time of this posting. Final salary offered to the candidate selected for the position will be based on factors including but not limited to the candidate's skills and experience.
