We’re looking for a Senior Research Manager to join the Angus Reid Group team. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience across the full research cycle, and learn directly from some of the industry’s leading experts while working with top brands. This is a multi-faceted role where you will be working closely with clients to define their business challenges. It involves project managing and executing on important market research projects. This team member will be working with some of Canada’s largest brands to inform their insights needs and grow these accounts.

As a Senior Research Manager, you’ll be leading accounts and executing the entire research project lifecycle with assistance including client communications, survey design, programming, fieldwork, data delivery, and analysis and reporting. The ideal candidate can juggle all the details of a project; collaborate with our various internal teams; ensure projects stay on schedule. Additionally, you will play a key role in the sales process, through the development of proposals and provide research consultation for client pitches.
As a Senior Research Manager at Angus Reid Group, you will:
- Lead and execute research projects in its entirety ensuring timely, quality deliverables according to project design
- Develop and nurture strategic client relationships; identify and mobilize revenue growth opportunities within accounts; help drive customer case studies
- Analyzing results and creating a "story" that delivers insightful, strategic and actionable answers for clients
- Presenting results to all levels of client organizations in a clear and compelling manner
- Keep senior management informed of any issues affecting the overall health and profitability of client accounts; obtain client feedback and identify problem areas before they become issues to prevent churn
- Participate in creating new products and services; readily work on joint initiatives and variety of projects to support the organization
- Support on reports and other project documents that are scheduled
- Support the development and upkeep of proposal materials and templates
- Assist with team with questionnaires and related project setup tasks when timelines allow
- Cross-team support:
- Provide backup project support to the Western Canada team on non-urgent tasks
- Help the Eastern Canada team during high-volume periods, again on work that does not require same-day responsiveness
This may be the right opportunity for you if you have:
- University (bachelor’s or master’s degree) preferably in a business-related subject or MBA
- At least four (4) years of experience in the market research or strategic consulting industry as a consultant or market/strategic research professional
- Proven ability to bring in business and significantly grow accounts
- Concrete experience managing a results-driven team in a comparable industry
- Extensive hands-on experience with research techniques and advanced analytic solutions
- Excellent powers of observation, analytical and synthesis skills
- Ability to understand client needs and turn them into business opportunities
- Meticulous, reliable, and a keen eye for detail
- Excellent time and priority management
- Problem resolution skills
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Excellent skills in PowerPoint and Microsoft Office Suite are required
- BONUS: A background in qualitative research including developing/implementing various methodologies and moderation

- In determining salary, Angus Reid Group considers many factors including the successful candidate’s skillset and experience as well as internal equity. The salary range for this position is $80,000 to $110,000, with the upper portion typically reserved for tenured employees who have developed extensive job knowledge and expertise within the company.
