OVERVIEW:

Alberta Blue Cross® is seeking two Senior Quality Assurance Testers for a 12-month contract term; one role having experience with FINEOS.  You will work closely with business analysts and technical teams to ensure user requirements have been tested, and defects have been identified and resolved. Working on multiple projects, the QAT will be responsible for managing testing, documenting results and trends and support project teams with effective testing.

In this hybrid role, you will be required to work in either our Edmonton and or Calgary office one day per week.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Estimate tasks and timelines for testing and identify potential schedule or project problems and provide solutions to alleviate the problems.

  • Review and understand use cases, user stories, non-functional requirements and design documents.

  • Develop test plans, test cases, and test scenarios to ensure requirements have been met.

  • Develop automated test scripts and execute test data loading scripts.

  • Create traceability of test cases to requirements.

  • Coordinate and schedule testing in a multi-user, multi-project test environment.

  • Responsible for technical documentation of tests results and program specifications including test failures and successes.

  • Execute test cases and interact with the development team to provide test results, report defects and discuss the impacts on product quality.

  • Retest resolved defects, track trends, and report metrics to business sponsor and project manager.

  • Compile test results and write test reports.

WHAT YOU WILL HAVE:

  • A related technical degree or diploma is required.

  • 5+ years’ experience developing test cases/scenarios and coordinating system testing or user acceptance testing. Experience as a QA Lead on projects is desired.

  • Decision-making ability and demonstrated leadership are essential.

  • Experience in the Insurance industry with strong life claims knowledge and FINEOS product is highly preferred.

  • Experience in Agile/Scrum/Kanban environments is highly desired

  • Experience with Delivery management tools like ALM, Service Now and Jira is highly preferred.

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all stakeholders and team members.

  • Superior analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to recognize symptoms, diagnose causes and identify alternative solutions.

  • Demonstrated ability to pay persistent attention to detail, while maintaining an overall view of the situation and the “big picture”.

  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask and meet the challenges of a fast-paced changing environment.

  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, Visio and experience with ALM, UFT, CFactory and Jira.

  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment.

  • Hands-on project experience with at least one Test Automation and Test Management toolset on at least one enterprise level application development project would be considered an asset.

  • Experience in an Oracle environment using TOAD would be considered an asset.

  • Working knowledge of/experience with Project Management body of knowledge and software development methodologies would be beneficial.
