Binnie is looking for a Senior Project Manager to join our Transportation Major Projects Division, which provides Owner’s Engineer and Project Delivery services for the planning, design, procurement, and construction of major infrastructure projects in British Columbia. This is a full-time position based out of our Burnaby Office, located near scenic Deer Lake.

Our recent projects include the Patullo Bridge Replacement Project, Fraser River Tunnel Project, and Steveston Interchange Project.

You will work with our experienced Senior Project Managers and our talented engineering team to ensure we meet our clients’ needs. This is an excellent opportunity for advancement. You will utilize your excellent client networking and business development skills to secure new business opportunities while maintaining strong relationships with our existing clients.

YOUR ROLE:

  • Act as the main point of contact on projects working with clients, stakeholders, consultants, contractors and support staff
  • Manage major transportation engineering projects on behalf of the Owner’s Engineer Team or Design Team.
  • Provide technical leadership and direction to junior and intermediate staff on Owner’s Engineer Team or Design Teams.
  • Evaluate RFP opportunities for alignment with division goals and corporate strategy and lead proposal efforts for large multidisciplinary projects in coordination with our Proposal Team.
  • Provide directions to staff and subconsultants
  • Engage in active business development
  • Develop win strategies specific to pursuits
  • Develop project schedules and coordinating resources
  • Monitor budget and progress on projects
  • Proactively supporting clients and anticipating project needs
  • Oversee the correct implementation of our quantity management system and application of design standards for engineering work.
  • Provide guidance to PMs on strengthening client relationships and how to forge new, strategic business relationships

 

WHAT YOU BRING:

  • A minimum of 10+ years of related technical experience in transportation engineering or project management in a civil engineering environment
  • Registration as a P.Eng. preferred
  • Experience leading design or other technical teams in the delivery of complex infrastructure projects
  • Experience with the design, procurement, construction and closeout phases of alternate delivery projects (Design-Build, Progressive Design-Build, Alliance, etc)
  • Extensive experience in client management in a professional consulting environment, including resolving conflict with internal and external stakeholders
  • Demonstrated experience delivering presentations to internal and external stakeholders
  • Demonstrated leadership skills leading project teams, including conflict resolution, negotiation, coaching and training
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License and personal vehicle
  • Exceptional project management, design, and time management skills
  • Proven experience in business development activities, including proposal writing, effective client management and relationship building
  • Positive attitude and dependable with the ability to work cooperatively and productively in a multidisciplinary team environment
  • Demonstrated team management and delegation skills
  • Proven conflict resolution capabilities
  • Strong communication and time management skills and ability to work concurrently on several different projects
  • Excellent attention to detail to consistently produce accurate, high-quality work

The salary for this position is commensurate with experience; the salary range for this position is $117,895 - $169,000 annually. The final salary for this role may vary based on several factors, including relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs. Please note that the salary range provided in this job posting may be subject to change for business purposes.
