The Senior Project Manager is responsible for leading and delivering multiple concurrent projects or large, complex initiatives within the Information Technology function. This role requires proven expertise in project planning, execution, and delivery, as well as the ability to communicate effectively with executive-level stakeholders. The Senior Project Manager will also provide mentorship, training, and oversight to less senior project managers, contributing to the overall capability and performance of the Project Management Office.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership & Mentorship
- Provide guidance, training, and performance management to less senior project managers.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the project management team.
- Project Planning & Execution
- Lead the end-to-end delivery of multiple or large-scale IT projects, including network, server, and software implementations, system upgrades, PC deployments, and process improvement initiatives.
- Develop comprehensive project plans encompassing scope, schedule, resource requirements, risk assessments, and budgetary constraints.
- Oversee project implementation processes, including resource allocation, progress tracking, change management, testing, documentation, and training.
- Ensure delivery of all project objectives on time, within scope, and within budget.
- Stakeholder & Executive Engagement
- Serve as the primary point of contact for executive-level communication, providing regular updates on project progress, risks, and mitigation strategies.
- Partner with internal customers and cross-functional teams to define project requirements, conduct feasibility analyses, and assess business impacts.
- Establish and maintain strong working relationships across IT, business units, and external partners.
- Governance & Compliance
- Ensure all projects are executed in accordance with established project management methodologies, policies, and best practices.
- Monitor, control, and report on project performance metrics to ensure alignment with organizational goals.
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Demonstrated success managing multiple or large, complex IT projects with significant executive-level visibility.
- Experience coordinating diverse project teams, including IT, network, and business staff, as well as external partners.
- Strong background in IT infrastructure and application project delivery.
- Exceptional leadership and mentoring capabilities.
- Advanced organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively engage executive stakeholders.
- Proficiency in project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid) and tools.
- Certifications in PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent project management certification strongly preferred.
