Overview

We’re looking for a Senior Product Marketing Manager who operates as a high-agency product operator - someone who can help define what we build, why it matters, and how it wins in market. As AI reduces execution friction, this role expands beyond traditional PMM responsibilities into deeper product thinking and narrative ownership within a clearly owned product domain.

This role sits deeply embedded within Product at the intersection of Product Management and Product Marketing, helping shape both the problems we pursue and the narratives that bring those solutions to market. You will partner closely with Product Managers and Engineering leaders from the earliest stages of problem definition, shaping product direction through customer insight, narrative clarity, and strong product judgment.

As our delivery velocity increases, we need fewer handoffs and tighter ownership from concept through commercialization. This role connects the “why,” “what,” and “how it lands,” ensuring that what we build translates clearly and powerfully to merchants and go-to-market teams.

This is a strong fit for someone who thrives in ambiguity, operates with high agency, and is excited by high-leverage ownership of outcomes end-to-end within a focused product domain. You should be comfortable influencing product decisions early while driving positioning, enablement, and adoption with equal rigor.

Please note: this is a hybrid role, based out of our Toronto office (downtown in the Core). 1 day per week in the office is expected.

What you’ll do

  • Partner closely with Product Managers and Designers throughout discovery, validation, and delivery — helping define problems, pressure-test opportunities, and shape product direction early.
  • Form and pressure-test hypotheses about customer problems, product value, and behavior change alongside Product teams.
  • Translate product strategy into clear, differentiated positioning grounded in real merchant value.
  • Own narrative leadership end-to-end across product initiatives — from early concept through launch and iteration.
  • Connect product decisions to downstream enablement, ensuring Sales, Partnerships, Customer Success, and Support understand not just what we built, but why it matters.
  • Influence roadmap and prioritization by bringing clear customer, market, and business signals into product decisions, and shape decisions within areas of domain expertise.
  • Reduce friction and handoffs between Product and GTM by maintaining tight alignment between what we build and how we communicate it.
  • Drive adoption and feedback loops post-launch, iterating on messaging and positioning based on real-world results.
  • Operate with urgency and ownership in a fast-moving environment, proactively identifying gaps and moving initiatives forward without waiting for perfect clarity.
  •  Use AI and modern internal tools to analyze customer and product signals (e.g., support tickets, sales calls, usage data), sharpen narratives, and accelerate iteration across product and go-to-market efforts.
  • Live by and champion our values: Accountability, Collaboration, Iteration, and Details.

What you’ll bring

  • Strong experience in Product Marketing with demonstrated influence on product strategy and direction — not just feature launches.
  • Clear evidence of high-agency behavior: stepping into ambiguity, driving clarity, and moving work forward without excessive oversight.
  • Strong product judgment and the ability to connect customer problems to business outcomes and roadmap decisions.
  • Exceptional ability to simplify complex product concepts into compelling, clear narratives.
  • Comfort operating in flatter, fast-moving environments with fewer handoffs and broader ownership.
  • Experience working closely with Product and Engineering teams, with fluency in product tradeoffs and prioritization conversations.
  • Bias toward velocity, ownership, and impact over process.
  • Curiosity about how AI and emerging tools can meaningfully increase productivity and product effectiveness.
  • Ability to travel 20% of the year

Preferred experience:

  • Experience with ecommerce, subscriptions, or merchant-facing platforms.
  • Experience supporting zero-to-one or early-stage product launches.
  • Familiarity working closely with founders or senior leadership teams.
  • Founder or builder mindset, with comfort operating in ambiguity.
  • Experience partnering closely with Product teams; prior product management experience is a plus.

Growth opportunity

This role sits deeply embedded within Product and offers the opportunity to expand into deeper product-facing ownership within a focussed domain over time.. As our product organization evolves toward higher-leverage product roles, we look for high-agency operators who can grow into expanded strategic scope, deeper product shaping responsibilities, and increased influence across the product lifecycle.
