Summary
PolicyCenter is one of the three core applications of Guidewire InsuranceSuite, powering underwriting, rating, and policy administration for many of the world's largest property and casualty insurers. As Senior Product Manager for PolicyCenter, you'll join the Policy product team — partnering with the Head of Policy and Billing, the Product Management Lead for Policy, and a Principal PM focused on AI/agentic capabilities — to deliver the next generation of policy administration for P&C insurers.This role is hands-on. You will own a defined area of PolicyCenter end-to-end: discovery, prioritization, specification, launch, and adoption. You'll spend real time with carriers, work shoulder-to-shoulder with engineering and design, and ship features that shape how insurers quote, underwrite, and manage policies for millions of policyholders.
What You'll Do
- Own an area of PolicyCenter. Take end-to-end product ownership of a defined slice of the product (scope shaped with the Policy leadership team) — from customer discovery through launch and adoption.
- Run the discovery–delivery loop. Talk to carriers, document problems, write specs, partner with engineering and design through delivery, and measure outcomes after launch.
- Contribute to the roadmap. Bring evidence and a clear point of view to the Policy roadmap process; help the team make better prioritization calls, including where AI/LLM capabilities can meaningfully advance underwriting and policy workflows.
- Engage directly with carriers. Build trusted relationships with underwriting, product, and IT leaders at our carrier customers; turn what you learn into product investments.
- Partner with engineering. Work daily with engineers and architects on scoping, sequencing, and trade-offs; develop the technical fluency to be a credible partner on rating engines, data model, integrations, and cloud delivery decisions.
- Coordinate across the suite. Work with PMs across BillingCenter, ClaimCenter, the Guidewire Cloud Platform, and rating/underwriting integrations to ensure your area fits the broader carrier experience.
- Stay close to live customers. Partner with field and support teams on satisfaction issues as they surface in production, triage what's coming in, and work with engineering on the right path forward — fix, configuration guidance or new feature.
- Measure what matters. Define success metrics for your area — quote-to-bind time, straight-through processing, underwriting cycle time, renewal retention, customer satisfaction — and use them to drive your next set of bets.
Job Description
What You'll BringRequired5–8 years of product management experience, including time on enterprise B2B SaaS products serving large customers.
Direct experience with P&C insurance — ideally policy administration, underwriting, rating, forms, endorsements, renewals, or quoting.
Track record of shipping meaningful features end-to-end — from problem discovery through adoption — not just managing a backlog.
Solid technical fluency: can learn and become an expert in a complex policy administration application, can read API contracts, reason about data models and rating logic, and have substantive design conversations with senior engineers.
Strong written and verbal communication; can translate fluidly between customer language, product spec, and engineering detail.
Comfort working on a team alongside more senior PMs and a leadership team — collaborative by default, opinionated when it matters.
Familiarity with Guidewire InsuranceSuite, Duck Creek, Majesco, or comparable core insurance platforms.
Exposure to AI/ML or agentic features in a production product — even as a contributor rather than the lead.
Experience on a product going through cloud/SaaS migration with a large installed base of on-prem customers.
Background working with underwriting, actuarial, or product management stakeholders at a carrier.
Prior experience as an engineer, solutions architect, business analyst, or implementation consultant on core insurance systems.
You're customer-obsessed — you'd rather spend a day with an underwriting team than reviewing a slide.
You operate well in a team — collaborative with peers, takes feedback seriously, gives credit generously.
You're rigorous: clear written specs, communicating and discussing trade-offs, documented decisions with measurable outcomes.
You view customer issues as valuable signals rather than distractions — leveraging them as direct insight into where product enhancements are needed.
You're pragmatic about AI — interested in shipping useful agentic capabilities, skeptical of demos.
You move with urgency without losing quality — bias toward shipping, learning, and iterating.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $148,000 - $254,000. Your base pay will depend on your experience, skills, education, training, and location among other factors. All full-time positions or part-time roles working 30 hours or more a week at Guidewire are eligible for benefits that support their health and well-being including health, dental, and vision insurance, paid time off, and a company sponsored retirement plan.
