We’re looking for a craft-minded, performance-obsessed Senior Product Designer to lead design for our Content Commerce team. In this key role, you’ll create thoughtful, user-centered experiences that make it seamless and enjoyable for people to discover, evaluate, and purchase products and services through trusted editorial content across Yahoo brands.
You’ll collaborate closely with cross-functional partners—including product managers, engineers, researchers, content strategists, and other designers - to shape intuitive and engaging commerce experiences using personalized product recommendations, shoppable editorial formats, and AI-powered expert guidance. Your work will help establish Yahoo as a trusted brand by delivering engaging content formats that help people make informed buying decisions.
As a design leader, you’ll own high-impact projects from concept through execution, ensuring every experience reflects Yahoo’s commitment to usability, accessibility, and visual excellence.
We’re especially interested in designers who already use AI tools as an integral part of their design process - from ideation and prototyping to research synthesis and documentation. You see AI not as an add-on, but as an essential creative partner that enhances your speed, insight, and imagination.
What You’ll Do:
Lead the design of content-focused commerce experiences across Yahoo—enabling effortless discovery, evaluation, and purchase of products and services
Craft content experiences that are informative, shoppable, and trustworthy—balancing editorial integrity with conversion goals.
Design modular, scalable components and patterns that work across different content surfaces and product verticals.
Advocate for clarity, usability, and delight across the entire commerce journey—from inspiration to transaction.
Collaborate closely with product, engineering, editorial, research, and legal teams to turn ideas into production-ready solutions.
Prototype at varying fidelities to explore concepts, validate user flows, and communicate design intent effectively.
Work with researchers to uncover insights and iterate based on qualitative and quantitative feedback.
Present your work clearly and confidently to stakeholders and peers, with strong rationale and strategic alignment.
Contribute to design systems and pattern libraries, ensuring consistency across commerce-related surfaces.
Proactively explore emerging AI tools and best practices and use them to elevate your process and outcomes.
Who You Are:
A strong systems thinker with an eye for clean, user-centered design.
Capable of navigating ambiguity and designing thoughtful experiences from scratch or within complex ecosystems.
A clear communicator who can advocate for users and influence decision-making with logic and empathy.
Familiar with commerce design patterns and micro-interactions that enhance decision-making and conversion.
Proficient in Figma (and optionally Framer or similar tools) to design, prototype, and iterate with speed and precision.
A collaborative team-mate who supports colleagues with insightful feedback and positive energy.
Someone who is embracing new ways of working and AI-powered design workflows.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Design, HCI, Visual Communication, or equivalent practical experience
4+ years of experience designing and shipping outstanding digital products—ideally including commerce, content platforms, or media experiences.
A portfolio demonstrating strong UX thinking, elegant interaction design, and polished UI craft.
Experience working on cross-functional product teams and shipping at scale.
Understanding of user-centered design principles and accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG 2.1)
Excellent collaboration, communication, and presentation skills.

The compensation for this position ranges from $128,250.00 - $266,875.00/yr and will vary depending on factors such as your location, skills and experience.The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of discretionary annual bonus or commissions.
