As a Senior Pricing Strategist, you will play a critical role in shaping and implementing a comprehensive and standard pricing strategy across Fortra. As part of the Commercial Strategy & Operations team, you will collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Sales, Marketing, and Finance to design, test and implement pricing models aligned with business objectives, competitive dynamics, and customer needs. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in pricing strategy, data analysis, and a proven track record of driving revenue growth through pricing initiatives.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Pricing Strategy Design & Implementation

  • Implement a well-designed, standardized pricing strategy, across multiple solutions that reflects product and platform value, channel partner needs & ensures consistency across all products and services.
  • Lead the development and use of pricing models based on deep data analysis. Leverage internal and external data sources, including sales trends, cost & discount structures, and customer segmentation, to continuously optimize pricing across the organization.
  • Collaborate with Product, Sales, Channel, Marketing, Finance, and Operations teams to gather insights, test & validate assumptions, and ensure alignment of pricing strategies with broader business initiatives.
  • Drive the operations and implementation of standardized pricing processes and tools to ensure efficiency, scalability, and consistency across the organization.
  • Research & test pricing strategies to support multi-product adoption & bundling resulting in increased portfolio adoption by Fortra’s customers.

Market & Competitive Analysis

  • Analyze market conditions, customer behavior, competitor pricing, and cost structures to recommend pricing adjustments and strategies to drive competitive advantage/optimize profitability.
  • Conduct comprehensive market research to stay updated on industry trends, competitive pricing tactics, and emerging market opportunities and threats.
  • Establish and maintain pricing governance frameworks to ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and legal guidelines. Monitor and enforce adherence to pricing strategies across different departments.

Pricing Profitability & Optimization

  • Analyze the impact of price changes on customer behavior, revenue, and margin, and refine pricing strategies accordingly.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to forecast and track the financial impact of pricing decisions on revenue and profitability. Present reports and insights into senior and executive leadership.
  • Establish and lead initiatives for continuous pricing optimization, including A/B testing, price sensitivity analysis, and competitive benchmarking.
  • Advise on contract negotiations, discount strategies, and special pricing arrangements as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Marketing, or a related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in pricing strategy, revenue management, or related roles, with a proven track record of developing and executing successful pricing strategies
  • Experience in Technology, Cybersecurity or SaaS software companies
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills
  • Proficiency in advanced Excel or other data analysis tools. Familiarity with pricing software (e.g., PROS, Vendavo, Salesforce CPQ, or similar) is a plus
  • Strong ability to collaborate and communicate across teams and influence decision-making
  • Experience with international and global market pricing needs as well as dynamic pricing, subscription-based models or SaaS pricing strategies
