About the Role

Charter is seeking an experienced Expert / Senior Network Specialist for a 9 month contract. The successful candidate will bring CCNP-level knowledge and advanced hands-on networking experience to support complex enterprise network environments. This role provides senior technical leadership, advanced troubleshooting, implementation support, and deployment expertise. The successful candidate will contribute throughout the delivery lifecycle, from planning and configuration review through installation, turn-up, validation, and operational handoff.


Responsibilities:

  • Lead and execute complex network deployment and modernization activities
  • Review network designs, implementation plans, configurations, methods of procedure, and rollback plans prior to deployment
  • Install, rack, power, configure, and onboard Cisco core, distribution, and access switching infrastructure
  • Perform advanced troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and technical escalation support across routing, switching, wireless, DHCP, DNS, and IP addressing services
  • Deploy and bring enterprise wireless access points online, validate connectivity and RF performance, and resolve implementation issues
  • Coordinate network changes, service transitions, and deployment activities with project teams, vendors, contractors, and client stakeholders
  • Develop and maintain network diagrams, configuration records, implementation documentation, and operational procedures
  • Perform cabling validation, network turn-ups, post-implementation checks, and service verification
  • Identify technical risks, dependencies, and potential service impacts, and recommend appropriate mitigation strategies
  • Ensure all activities meet established safety, architecture, configuration, documentation, and quality standards

Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of progressive experience in network engineering, network operations, infrastructure support, or enterprise network support
  • CCNP certification or demonstrated CCNP-level capability, with strong hands-on experience configuring, deploying and troubleshooting Cisco enterprise networking equipment
  • Proven experience working in active construction environments with zero tolerance for safety non-compliance
  • Hands-on experience installing, racking, powering, configuring and onboarding Cisco core, distribution, and access switches
  • Experience deploying enterprise wireless access points online, validating RF performance and resolving implementation issues
  • Familiarity with Cisco ecosystem tools such as BlueCat IPAM and Cisco Spaces
  • Proficiency using network diagnostic tools including NetAlly or equivalent testers
  • Ability to create, review and interpret network diagrams, configuration documentation, implementation plans and operational procedures
  • Must supply personal field tools, appropriate testing equipment, and a suitable laptop for on-site work
  • Strong knowledge of enterprise routing, switching, wireless, VLANs, spanning tree, high availability, and IP addressing
  • Ability to independently troubleshoot complex network issues and provide technical guidance during implementations and service transitions
