Role Title
Senior Marketing Specialist, Digital Marketing
Purpose of role
This job plays a critical role in marketing both innovative and purpose-driven programs to our existing members as well as supporting our growing social media platforms. The ideal candidate will excel in managing marketing campaigns from inception to completion with an adaptable and critical eye on program execution from print to digital and beyond.
The Senior Marketing Specialist, Digital Marketing role reports to the Senior Manager, Digital Innovation and Acquisition Marketing with a dotted line to the Senior Manager, Membership Marketing and will collaborate with colleagues in the Brand, Communications, Membership, Digital and Product Marketing teams, external creative agency and translation partners, the Business Insights & Analytics team, Legal and Compliance teams and seeks approval from stakeholders in Insurance Ops and Membership teams, including senior leaders and executives.
Job Description
Key Responsibilities
- Integrated annual report (30%): With the support of the Senior Manager, Membership Marketing, manage the Foresters annual report including kick-off meetings, executive presentations, marketing brief, board meeting submission, execution of all related promotional tactics, stakeholder reviews, print and mail timelines as well as all communication deliverables, which may include a web experience, emails, video and social media, and post-campaign evaluation and reporting
- Self-serve and app promotion (30%): With the support of the Senior Manager, Digital own and lead all stages of MyPolicy certificate self-serve and MyForesters app promotion marketing programs including the planning, brainstorming, campaign goal setting, brief writing, evaluation of concepts, obtaining stakeholder approvals, campaign launch oversight and post-campaign evaluation. Campaigns may include web, email, video, print, blog posts and more
- Blog management (15%): Lead the creation and execution of a robust content calendar for two corporate blogs. Working across various functions, including product marketing, membership marketing, digital marketing and brand, source appropriate content and manage from concept to execution with ongoing reviews of performance and points of optimization
- Social media content creation (10%): Working with the digital marketing team, work to develop unique content and asset creation (motion, images, text) with the brand team to support our ongoing content calendar on social media
- Social media moderation (15%): Moderate and interact across our major social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Threads, Pinterest and Google Reviews to grow engagement, encourage positive discussion and provide excellent service on our growing social media platforms
- Depending on workload volume and overall team capacity, other project management responsibilities may be assigned from time to time
Key Qualifications
- Must be able to lead projects with little supervision
- Strong knowledge of direct and digital marketing
- Strong written and verbal communications skills, with experience writing program briefs and post-campaign reports
- Ability to synthesize data to distill actionable insights – experience with Google Analytics an asset
- Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills, with strengths in communicating with tact, diplomacy and persuasiveness
- Highly organized with excellent project management skills that exhibit strong planning skills, the ability to initiate and follow through
- Experience in workflow automation software tools such as Asana an asset
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills
- Confident and enthusiastic team player with a self-directed approach and a willingness to take on new creative challenges
- Experience working within agile workflows an asset
- Experience working on websites including content development, user journey mapping, and analyzing data
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite – PowerPoint, Word and Excel
- Experience with social media monitoring and management tools for publishing, reporting, and social listening (i.e., Hootsuite, Sprinklr, Brand watch, Facebook Insights, etc.)
- Proven experience with crafting and executing effective social and community strategies across multiple channels, working with ambassadors and employee advocacy
- Ability to function well in a rapidly evolving and demanding environment while managing multiple stakeholder perspectives including high profile executive committee members within the organization
- Successful applicants should be prepared to discuss 1-2 examples of their work, focusing on their ability to lead marketing initiatives from concept to execution, along with key outcomes and lessons learned in executing integrated marketing campaigns that span digital and print media
