As a member of our engineering team, you will play a key role in shaping and evolving our cloud infrastructure. You will design, implement, and maintain highly available and secure systems, partnering with engineering teams to deliver exceptional application performance and rapid deployment cycles. This position requires a broad understanding of cloud technologies, automation, and best practices for system reliability.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement scalable infrastructure solutions using modern cloud and container technologies
  • Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration, and deployment processes to improve efficiency and reliability
  • Build and maintain observability frameworks, including logging, monitoring, alerting, and distributed tracing, to ensure system health and performance
  • Partner with development teams to align infrastructure capabilities with application needs
  • Plan, execute, and validate infrastructure upgrades, such as Kubernetes and other critical platform components
  • Enhance system reliability through proactive identification and resolution of bottlenecks or weaknesses
  • Collaborate with teams to define and implement CI/CD pipelines that enable rapid and secure deployments
  • Ensure infrastructure meets compliance, security, and scalability standards
  • Document processes, standards, and runbooks to support maintainability and knowledge sharing

About YouThe essentials:

  • 8+ years of professional experience in DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering, or related roles
  • Proficient in at least one scripting language (e.g., Python, Bash)
  • Strong expertise in AWS with EKS 
  • Strong expertise in Kubernetes 
  • Experience with Apache Druid at an enterprise level 
  • Hands-on experience with Pulum or similar tool
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and tools (e.g., GitHub Actions, Jenkins, FluxCD)
  • Knowledge of distributed systems, networking, and security fundamentals
  • Excellent troubleshooting and debugging skills
  • Strong ability to collaborate, communicate, and work effectively in distributed teams
  • Familiarity with observability tools (e.g., DataDog, Splunk, Sentry) and best practices
  • On Call rotation one week every six weeks - This is a first level of support and will need to follow escalation procedures when appropriate

 What We Offer

.Monks has provided a compensation range that represents its good faith estimate of what Media.Monks may pay for the position at the time of posting. .Monks may ultimately pay more or less than the posted compensation range. The salary offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on job-related factors, but not based on a candidate’s sex or any other protected status.

Salary Range

$114,000 — $140,000 CAD
