What you'll be doing

The HR and Advisory Services team provides strategic advice and proactive support to our business partners to advance business strategies, leadership, and cultural imperatives at CIBC. As a Senior Human Resources Consultant, you will support the Personal and Business Banking teams by translating business needs into integrated Human Resource solutions to fully leverage people management, employee capability and organizational development. You’ll give people managers and their teams the tools and support they need to best serve our clients. You’ll use your human resources experience to provide value added advice and counsel in all areas of Human Resources including: performance management, rewards and recognition, recruitment and retention, talent management, succession planning, employee relations and diversity. You can effectively manage the demands of the client group, present business specific HR requirements and/or issues to the centres, and partner with the HR centres of expertise in the development of business specific HR solutions.

  • Talent management & workforce transformation – Working with your HR Centres of Excellence (CoE) partners, you develop integrated talent strategies and solutions to support the business is acquiring, developing and retaining the best talent to meet current and future business needs and help them in tackling their top talent priorities. You support leaders in building employee capabilities and enabling team performance.

  • HR planning and integration – You plan and coordinate the delivery of annual Corporate HR initiatives related to Performance Management, Talent Planning, Base Pay and Incentive Pay to ensure the needs of the client groups and Corporate HR are met in a timely and efficient manner. Anticipates and plans for future human capability needs by analyzing and interpreting workforce information, reviewing results of employee surveys, and discussing top of mind issues and concerns with business and HR leaders.  You reinforce appropriate application of HR policies, standards and procedures to ensure alignment with the organization's vision, mission and values and to ensure adherence with legislative requirements.
