About Neon
Every day, thousands of new databases are deployed on Neon by developers and AI agents, powering SaaS products, AI-native apps, and enterprise workloads across multiple clouds. Backed by exciting developer momentum and top-tier investors, we are scaling our go-to-market efforts to support our fast-growing self-serve adoption and a rapidly expanding enterprise customer base. This is a unique opportunity to join a developer-first company as we scale upmarket and help shape the future of Postgres.
The Opportunity
We are seeking a Senior Growth Marketing Manager (Pipeline) to join our Marketing team. This is a marketing role dedicated to driving direct sales pipeline ( not signups to the free plan or in-product conversion from free to paid). You will be responsible for generating qualified interest from high-potential prospects, surfacing sales opportunities from within our existing user base, and designing targeted, outbound-friendly campaigns that support the Sales team in booking high-quality meetings.
This role complements our Growth Product team, which focuses on converting self-serve users from free to paid. Your work, by contrast, will be measured by its impact on sales pipeline creation and progression.
Location Remote | Global | Preference for US business hours
You will
Inbound-to-pipeline conversion: Build and execute marketing programs that convert inbound signups and interest into qualified, sales-ready opportunities.
Lead scoring and segmentation: Design and implement Neon’s first behavioral and firmographic scoring models to identify high-fit accounts within our user base and enable timely, targeted outreach.
Email and lifecycle campaigns: Create and maintain email programs that support both outbound prospecting and inbound-to-pipeline conversion.
Outbound program development: Collaborate with the Sales team to design and execute targeted campaigns for high-priority segments, using messaging and formats that resonate with technical buyers.
Performance marketing: Experiment with paid acquisition channels (e.g. Google Ads, LinkedIn) as a clear strategic link to generating direct sales pipeline, within highly targeted campaigns.
Campaign development: Develop and test novel campaign ideas and engagement formats that go beyond traditional tactics, unlocking new ways to surface qualified sales opportunities from our PLG motion.
What you bring
You have a passion for developer tools. 4+ years of experience Developer tool/DevX marketing experience is essential.
You’ve grown a pipeline for technical products via direct sales. 2+ years of experience, whether as a founder, early employee, or product lead, you've helped bring a developer-facing product to market via a sales-assisted motion, not just self-serve growth. You understand what it takes to generate interest, build pipeline, and close deals in high-consideration buying environments.
You have hands-on marketing or go-to-market experience. You either have 4 - 6 years of experience in marketing roles at developer-focused companies OR you have relevant experience as a founder or startup product leader with strong exposure to go-to-market, especially involving the hands-on direct sales motion.
You have experience building lead scoring models. 1+ year of recent experience implementing scoring frameworks (behavioral, firmographic, predictive) that help Sales focus on the right accounts. Expertise with lead scoring tools. like Clearbit, MadKudu, Clay, or similar, is highly desirable.
You act like an owner. You operate with autonomy, have a bias for action and a desire to ship. This is a senior role, but it’s hands-on: you'll be expected to lead strategy and execute campaigns yourself.
You understand developers and technical buyers. You know how to engage technical audiences with credible, value-driven messaging, not generic enterprise marketing tactics.
You’re motivated by results. You’ve driven measurable sales pipeline in previous roles through product-led signals, outbound strategy, or both. We'll ask for examples.
You’re analytical and experimental. You design and run your own experiments, understand funnel behavior, and make data-informed decisions that prioritize what works.
You don’t need to meet every single one of these criteria. If you have relevant experience bringing technical products to market and a track record of driving pipeline, we’d love to hear from you, even if your path doesn’t look traditional.
