About the Role
By the Pixel is seeking a mid-senior level Full-Stack Developer to join our growing team! As a Developer, you'll create high-quality code and solutions while having the opportunity to grow into Technical Lead responsibilities on a per-project basis. This role offers a unique blend of hands-on development and technical leadership, allowing you to shape both code and team success.
A successful candidate should be passionate about innovation, stay updated with emerging technologies, and have excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively in a remote environment.
Core Development Responsibilities
Technical Expertise
- Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code following established best practices
- Develop prototypes and proof of concepts
- Perform both minor and major system updates
- Proactively identify and implement code improvements
- Create and maintain technical documentation (wikis, READMEs, etc.)
- Maintains and/or builds skills and knowledge necessary for their assignments.
- Creates and follows through on goals for professional development.
- Stays up-to-date on the latest industry standards, trends, and technology.
Collaboration & Mentorship
- Work closely with Designers to implement their vision effectively
- Partner with Quality Assurance Analysts to resolve implementation issues
- Participate in peer code reviews and pair programming sessions
- Mentor less experienced developers through code reviews and pair coding
- Actively contribute to technical discussions and knowledge sharing
Technical Lead Opportunities
As you grow in the role, you'll have the chance to take on Technical Lead responsibilities on a per-project basis, including:
Project Leadership
- Act as a liaison between Operations and Development teams
- Lead and facilitate application architecture and design decisions
- Write and maintain technical requirements
- Lead code releases and provide regular status updates
- Balance technical requirements with business objectives
Team Guidance
- Assist with task delegation based on team members' experience and capacity
- Onboard new developers to projects
- Lead technical discussions and gather team feedback
- Monitor code quality and enforce best practices
- Guide technical strategy while managing scope and technical debt
Required Qualifications
- 3-6+ years of professional development experience
- Strong proficiency in backend and frontend development
- Experience with code review processes and quality assurance
- Proven ability to mentor and guide other developers
- Strong communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Demonstrated ability to work independently on complex tasks
- Experience with technical documentation and architecture decisions
- Self-motivated learner who stays current with industry trends
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
- Excellent time management and prioritization skills
- Collaborative mindset with strong team communication
- Ability to balance technical excellence with business needs
- Ability to maintain billable efficiency in client work
