Senior Full Stack Engineer: Ruby on Rails
Location: Remote in Canada (flexible working some PST hours)
Job Type: 3 month contract with possibility of extension
About the RoleAs a Full-stack Engineer, you will build scalable web platforms. In addition to providing input on app architecture, you will create and review pull requests daily and engage with internal teams and directly with clients in an agile environment. You will work in teams with a product manager, designers, and other engineers to scope design and implement features.
Responsibilities:- Design, build and maintain scalable web services and applications using modern technologies
- Design, build and maintain highly usable web applications and experiences using modern technologies
- Engage daily with your distributed, remote engineering team working on different layers of the applications and infrastructure
- Collaborate with product designers and product managers to clarify requirements, prototype functionality and build products
- Plan, estimate and prioritize work in a remote, distributed team environment
- Guide our clients in best practices to achieve great project success
- Work directly with client stakeholders to share progress and collaborate on solutions
- 8+ years of professional engineering experience, specifically with Ruby and Ruby on Rails
- Experience with legacy and modern Javascript frontend libraries/frameworks (JQuery, React)
- Experience with PostgreSQL
- Experience with Linux servers and dependencies management
- Comfortable working in the FE with TypeScript & React
- Comfortable working with Kubernetes and Docker
- Strong ability to communicate, collaborate, and empathize with others
- Good knowledge of design and architectural patterns and development best practices
- Previous experience collaborating on highly distributed teams
