Our challenge
We are looking for an experienced Full Stack Developer with experience on Angular, Java, REST APIs/Microservices, and Spring Framework (MVC, Security, JPA, Spring Boot).
Additional Information*
The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors. In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within Toronto, ON is CAD $110k – CAD $120k/year & benefits (see below).
The Role
Responsibilities:
- As a Full Stack Software Developer, candidate have a solid technical foundation and will be mentoring and coaching other developers associated with projects, including Front-end Developers, API services developers, and Quality Engineers.
- Contribute towards the creation of intuitive, robust, and reusable user interfaces using modern frameworks.
- Develop, test and assist in the design of the UI and microservices that offers the data and services to both internal and external partners, and ensuring high code quality through automated unit and functional testing.
- Ensures adequate documentation is prepared, follows and implements industry best-practices in application development and reuse, using waterfall or Agile methodologies
- Collaborate with the team to design and implement software logic following current best practices
- Work with the operations team to promote code to production and ensure performance and reliability.
- Candidate will actively seek out knowledge about new technologies and how they can be used to solve current and foreseeable challenges.
- Excellent communication including the ability to distill technical details into human terms.
Requirements:
- 8+ years of hands-on experience with Angular, Java, REST APIs/Microservices, and Spring Framework (MVC, Security, JPA, Spring Boot).
- 5+ years of experience working with RDBMS (Oracle, MSSQL, PostgreSQL), NoSQL (MongoDB, ELK), and data streaming technologies (Kafka).
- Experience developing and troubleshooting distributed cloud applications (OpenShift, Kubernetes, Docker).
- Deep understanding of security protocols (JWT, OAuth, SSL Certificates) and interface specifications (Swagger, RAML, SOAP).
- Proficiency in CI/CD pipelines and testing automation tools.
- Strong problem-solving and design skills, with a focus on clean coding practices and scalability.
- Ability to mentor and guide junior developers in technical and best practice areas.
- Solid Understanding of Agile.
- A passion for technology and a love of software development culture.
Preferred, but not required:
- Experience with object-oriented programming and microservice design patterns (e.g., load balancing, resiliency).
- Familiarity with major architectural styles, such as reactive or event-driven systems.
- Knowledge of modern front-end design trends and technologies.
- Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and the ability to contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
