We are dedicated to creating innovative digital solutions that showcase the artistry and creativity of drag performers, queens, and kings worldwide. We're passionate about making drag more accessible to the community and sustainable as a full-time career for performers. As a Full-Stack Developer [equity only], you will have the chance to be part of an exciting QueerTech start-up that directly helps drag performers and the 2SLGBTQIA* community. Your contribution will help to propel change and open up more economic opportunities for the 2SLGBTQIA* community.
WHO YOU ARE
- You have been working as a Full-Stack Developer or Engineer and have strong experience with React Native, Node.js, Python, and MySQL
- You have empathy for the lived experience of others, helping to create a psychologically safe environment for underrepresented groups, especially
- You have knowledge of product development, engineering functions, processes, and procedures, including,but not limited to discovery, design, development, and testing
- Your friends describe you as a "curious mind" - you like to deep-delve into new topics, feet-first
- You are proactive in identifying the root cause of bugs and issues that affect our code - coming prepared with a solution
- Collaborating is your jam, but you don’t mind flying solo when needed
WHAT THE JOB INVOLVES
- Representing the Engineering team as a team member
- Code the back and front end for the Drag Me apps (React Native, Node.js, Python and MySQL)
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date data for the app; using partner APIs and data scrapers to identify events, Artists and Venues
- Seeking to identify and solve the root cause of bugs and issues. All while fostering a positive and collaborative work environment
- Maintaining a continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, and streamline work processes
- You will be part of a cross-functional team of professionals; cross-collaboration, problem-solving abilities, and a proactive attitude are key
- Finally, you are responsible for continuously improving yourself — always ask for what you need
EXPECTATIONS
- 10-40 hours per week maximum
- Monday to Thursday only (four-day workweeks!)
- Weekly 1:1 with other developers
COMPENSATION
- No salary, no wage. 0.10-0.25% equity in the company; vested over 12-24 months
