The Senior Director, DtC Commercial Sales and Marketing will be responsible for DtC OMNI Sales and Margin performance, Category planning and Marketing. This role will direct the category management team, promotional cadence and marketing to increase new and loyal Samsung customers across the portfolios in Mobile (phone/tablet/PC/wearable) and Consumer Electronics (TV/audio/appliances/Display) for long-term success of the DtC business. This role will have accountability to accelerate growth sales Samsung.com, our other digital properties and Samsung Brand stores, including success in new product launches and demand generation to drive traffic. This includes increasing the Samsung customers, engagement and returning customer within the ecosystem of the brand.
The position will collaborate closely with the DtC demand planning, platform and development teams, Divisional leads, GBMs, Logistics and external operational partners to drive the category strategy, revenue and margins to deliver P&L, Inventory and forecast accuracy KPI'S
Additionally, this role will be key in driving innovations in how we reach customers to create a seamless OMNI channel Experience, prioritizes sales, the customer experience and brings innovation, and possesses a strong sense of ownership.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Accountable for the DTC Category P&Ls across the OMNI channel and digital platforms ensuring promotional, marketing and sellout spends meet category targets
  • Portfolio sales and channel growth overseeing the sales forecasting, promotions, inventory planning and overall commercial planning in the portfolio to meet all management plan expectations
  • Develop strategic priorities to grow market share and increase DTC sales, including Competitive positioning in all categories Mobile and Consumer Electronics for Consumer site and Shop APP
  • Develop strategies to accelerate B2B and SMB Channels at scale to multiple new External Partner sites and verticals in finance, government, student and direct accounts, including the expansion to Samsung Small Business and Marketplace expansion
  • Lead the DTC sales and marketing team to drive commercial success in campaigns ATL and BTL through deep customer segmentation, offers to create connected experiences online and offline digital experiences, personalization, segmentation at scale and new sellout options for new customers and loyal customers
  • Lead Go To Market for DtC including, product launches, Samsung weeks and other customer events to drive engagement, loyalty rewards and sales
  • Develop promotional strategies, margin management across the channels to meet the category KPIs, ROI and channel mix targets in alignment with various LOBs
  • Collaborate with the S.com platform and Retail teams to leverage digital capabilities to help grow brand awareness and sales in wholesale and brick-and-mortar retail channels
  • Enhance Reporting and KPIs to drive category sales, traffic, conversion as the business grows across platforms, Stores and new channel development. Lead Strategic projects to drive business growth in DTC, to build a seamless OMNI customer experience and expand channels for the future development
  • Provide strategic leadership on product placement, aligning with the divisions, specifically as it relates to merchandise focus on assortment, along with inventory management to meet monthly, quarterly and annual targets
  • Effectively represent the brand in all l “channels” through high-touch, connected experiences to showcase the value of Samsung working with merchandising teams
  • Work collaboratively with LOB leaders to maximize opportunities, develop premium business and prioritize key innovations into the sale and marketing plans
  • Prepare Roadmap, annual plan, budgets, provide ongoing results analysis and forecasting, and drive prioritization of investments through quantitative business justification
  • Build and lead a high-performing digital team that forges strong cross-functional relationships

Skills and Qualifications

Requirements:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing or related field (MBA in Marketing preferred)

Knowledge:

  • Superior qualitative and quantitative analytical capabilities, with an outstanding body of work demonstrating high quality, innovative deliverables and an exceptional understanding of consumer behavior
  • Highly developed communication & relationship skills
  • Strategic thinking combined with strict attention to tactical details and execution
  • A keen knowledge of innovative market share growth, direct marketing techniques and approaches using industry best practices, including critical channels like social media and mobile
  • Knowledge of Demand generation platforms including social media, performance Marketing, loyalty
  • Knowledge of Multivariate Testing platforms, such as Optimizely
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, analytical and strategic thinking skills

Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree with 15+ years of directly related experience in sales, retail & Omni channel environment
  • 5+ years of experience working with customer data analytics, demand generation, instore marketing
  • 5+ years of experience working within an e-commerce enabled website environment, developing campaigns and strategies to drive both traffic and profitability acquire new customers (SEM, SEO, affiliate, SEM)
  • Experience leading a sales function of an E-commerce, Retail or Consumer Electronics company
  • Demonstrated ability to balance operations and implement strategic/innovative solutions
  • Project and program management expertise
  • Team/People management inclusive of both day-to-day coaching with an emphasis on career development.
  • Strong analytical capabilities and a solid understanding of how to leverage tools such as Excel

Other Professional Attributes:

  • Demonstrated competency in persuasive communication skills using both oral and written modes for internal and external personnel at all management and staff organizational levels to obtain critical project decisions
  • Plan, organize and prioritize multiple complex assignments and projects
  • The ability to lead a team of employees to a common goal
  • Ability to work in a team environment, in order to achieve personal and project team goals and to complete projects within established time frames
  • The ability to accept tasks and problems/situations that differ, requiring creativity to search for solutions among learned consequences
