About the role:
We’re looking for a DevOps Engineer who loves ownership, automation, and impact to directly power a fast-growing product. In this role, you’ll design resilient, high-performing systems and raise the bar on reliability, security, and observability across the platform.
You’ll work at the intersection of engineering, data, testing, and security, partnering closely with teams to streamline deployments, strengthen compliance, and respond decisively to critical issues when they matter most. From building CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code to applying best-in-class DevOps practices, you’ll have the autonomy to shape how we build and operate in the cloud. If you’re energized by solving complex problems, improving systems end-to-end, and leaving things better than you found them, this is a role where your work will truly make a difference.
What you’ll do:
Own and scale ZayZoon’s AWS infrastructure to ensure reliability, performance, and security.
Design and automate infrastructure provisioning using CloudFormation, build CI/CD pipelines and manage existing infrastructure stacks.
Optimize our PostgreSQL databases for high availability and performance.
Improve monitoring and observability when possible, ensuring detection and a proactive resolution of issues.
Designing secure (SOC-2 and cybersecurity compliance), scalable cloud services in AWS.
Evaluate and remediate Critical and High CVEs across all our services on a moment’s notice.
Work cross-functionally across multiple teams such as development, data, testing, and security to convey concepts and build understanding as well as improve deployment processes.
Apply DevOps best practices in everything you do - there are many ways to do things, and you bring the best of them to our environment.
You bring:
5+ years of cloud infrastructure engineering experience in AWS or GCP.
3+ years of experience with Python or equivalent high level language (Go, Ruby, etc).
Knowledge of Bash & Structured Query Language (SQL).
Experience with CloudFormation to provision and maintain infrastructure, or experience in other IaC tooling such as Terraform, Ansible, Chef, or equivalent.
Experience with CloudWatch and Elastic Container Services (ECS) running on Fargate, with CodePipeline and native deployments.
Experience building efficient CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions or an equivalent.
Ability to deep dive into CloudWatch, CloudTrail logging and other logging tooling, such as Athena, to get to the bottom of a problem.
Experience migrating compute from Intel to ARM architecture.

We care a lot about employee experience and pay is a big part of that. We’re currently on a journey toward internal pay transparency, with that work wrapping up by the end of Q1. We’re focused on doing this thoughtfully, starting with the people who make ZayZoon what it is.
