Sprout Social is looking for a Senior Data Scientist to join its Data Science and AI team.

What you’ll do

  • Lead the end-to-end development of statistical models and data analysis, managing projects from concept to delivery. 
  • Work closely with various go-to-market teams to solve complex business challenges, driving revenue growth for the company.
  • Drive a wide range of business analytics, strategic analysis, predictive modeling efforts, and self-service insights through BI ensuring insights are actionable, timely, impactful, and aligned with strategic goals.
  • Apply data science methodologies, including experimentation and causal analysis, to evaluate business strategies and optimize decision-making.
  • Translate complex data insights into compelling narratives tailored for stakeholder and executive audiences, ensuring clarity, relevance, and impact on GTM decision-making
  • Empower team growth by upholding our standards and fostering a culture of excellence and collaboration

What you’ll bring

We’re looking for an experienced and passionate data scientist who is eager to collaborate with sales, marketing, revenue, and other departments and provide data-driven solutions to business leaders. If you excel at statistical modeling and data driven storytelling, all while being motivated by solving critical business problems, we’d love to talk with you!

The minimum qualifications for this role include:

  • 5+ years of experience as a data scientist working with non-technical stakeholders
  • 5+ years of experience driving GTM decision-making through strong proficiency in SQL for querying, transforming, and analyzing large datasets, as well as conducting statistical data analysis in Python, including modeling and data visualization with BI tools like Tableau.
  • A track record of quantifiable business impact through data science solutions in areas such as revenue, finance, sales, or go-to-market functions, with proven storytelling ability to translate insights into actionable strategies for stakeholders and executives.

Preferred qualifications for this role include:

  • Comfortable leading projects in an ambiguous environment and defining processes
  • Broad and deep expertise in statistical, ML and AI methods, with a focus on solving business-oriented problems such as customer lifetime value prediction, churn analysis, forecasting, and segmentation.
  • Experience with model services, deployment technologies, and ML-Ops practices
  • Familiar with cloud services and databases such as GCP, AWS, and Azure
  • Experience designing self-service analytics tools that enable revenue, finance, sales, and GTM teams to access insights independently.

How you’ll grow

Within 1 month, you’ll plant your roots, including:

  • Complete Sprout’s New Hire training program alongside other new Sprout team members.
  • Learn about our team’s data science and data analytics best practices.
  • Become familiar with our existing services and available data.
  • Begin meeting with various departments and stakeholders to understand existing problem spaces and needs.
  • Work with your manager to define the first project you’ll work on and start the data analysis process

Within 3 months, you’ll start hitting your stride by:

  • Contribute to an analytics initiative 
  • Continue learning about Sprout’s products, customers, and business structure to suggest new data projects that will impact growth 

Within 6 months, you’ll be making a clear impact through:

  • Delivering your first analytics asset(s), providing actionable insights to stakeholders.
  • Contribute to our longer-term roadmap of data and analytics at Sprout 
  • Define best practices and guide strategy for our GTM data science practice

Within 12 months, you’ll make this role your own by:

  • Continuing to develop data science solutions to transform data into actionable insights driving business impact
  • Identify new opportunities for data science-backed capabilities
  • Continue to build relationships with department leaders and executives
  • Contribute to elevating the technical excellence of the team and analytics best practices at Sprout
  • Expand your skills by learning from other data analysts and data scientists at Sprout.

The base pay range for this role is CAD 165,000 to CAD 195,000 annually. Individual base pay is based on various factors, including work location, relevant experience and skills, the responsibility of the role, and job duties/requirements. 

Sprout’s compensation ranges are intentionally broad to allow for our team members' growth within their role. These ranges were determined by a market-based compensation approach; we used data from trusted third-party compensation sources to set equitable, consistent, and competitive ranges. We also evaluate compensation bi-annually, identify any changes in the market and make adjustments to our ranges and existing employee compensation as needed.


Base pay is only one element of an employee's total compensation at Sprout. Every Sprout team member has an opportunity to receive restricted stock units (RSUs) under Sprout’s equity plan. We have outlined the various components to an employee’s full compensation package here to help you to understand our total rewards package.
