Spring Financial is a Canadian financial technology company focused on making every day financial services simpler, faster, and more accessible.
We build technology that helps Canadians build credit, save money, and access lending products without unnecessary friction. Our platforms allow customers to apply and manage their finances online, by text, or over the phone, making the experience convenient and flexible.
Since launching in 2014, Spring has grown into one of Canada’s largest fintechs, with over 250,000+ product originations across credit-building products, personal lending, and mortgage solutions.
We’re a fast-growing, product-driven team that values practical solutions, strong execution, and thoughtful collaboration. We give people ownership, trust them to make decisions, and focus on building systems that scale reliably.
If you’re interested in working on real-world fintech platforms used by hundreds of thousands of Canadians, Spring offers the opportunity to make a tangible impact through well-built technology.
NOTE: This is a full-time, permanent, hybrid position in downtown Vancouver. 3 set days in the office and 2 WFH.
About the role:
This is a senior analytical role working closely with executives and cross-functional teams across the business to turn complex questions into clear, well-structured analysis. We're actively investing in the future of agentic analytics, and this role sits at the forefront of that shift. You'll help define what it means to work alongside AI agents, build the context and metric infrastructure that powers them, and evolve how our analytics practice operates in a world where much of the routine work is automated.
What you’ll do:
Stakeholder Partnership & Problem Translation
- Serve as a trusted analytical partner to senior leaders and executives, proactively surfacing insights and translating high-level strategic questions into structured, actionable analyses.
- Navigate ambiguity with confidence — take loosely defined requests, ask the right clarifying questions, and deliver analytical work that addresses the real underlying business need.
- Present findings and recommendations to senior leadership in clear, compelling narratives that influence direction across credit, product, and finance.
Agentic Analytics & the Future of BI
- Play an active role in building out our agentic analytics capabilities — including designing the context layers, semantic definitions, and metric logic that AI agents rely on to answer business questions reliably.
- Work with modern, AI-native BI and analytics tooling to build analyses and dashboards that are not just human-readable, but agent-ready.
- Help define and evolve how analysts work alongside automated pipelines and AI-driven workflows — contributing to a culture that embraces augmentation over repetition.
Metric & Context Infrastructure
- Own the definition and documentation of key business metrics, ensuring there's a shared, consistent understanding of how the business measures itself.
- Ensure that analytical work is well-documented and easy for others to build on — including the AI-driven workflows that increasingly depend on that foundation.
- Partner with data and engineering teams to surface gaps in how data is structured or defined, and advocate for improvements that make analysis faster and more reliable.
Analysis & Insight Generation
- Analyze credit bureau data, portfolio performance, and market trends to surface insights that inform underwriting, pricing, collections, and product strategy.
- Lead analytical projects end-to-end — from scoping and data modeling through to delivery and stakeholder communication.
- Use AI-assisted tools to accelerate exploratory analysis, segmentation, and hypothesis generation — with a critical eye for validating outputs before acting on them.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with data and analytics engineering as well as business partners from product, sales, marketing, risk and finance teams to ensure analytical needs are reflected in data infrastructure, pipeline design and governance standards.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to clarify data requirements, resolve quality issues, and contribute to a high-integrity data environment.
- Contribute to raising the bar on analytical rigor, documentation, and data-driven decision making across the organization.
What we're looking for:
Required
- Proven experience in a senior data analytics role, ideally with exposure to credit risk, consumer lending, fintech, or financial services.
- Demonstrated ability to work directly with executives and senior stakeholders — translating ambiguous, high-stakes questions into clear analytical frameworks and recommendations.
- Strong proficiency in SQL for data extraction, transformation, and analysis within a cloud data platform (Snowflake or similar).
- Experience defining and governing business metrics — including documentation of logic, assumptions, and intended use.
- Hands-on experience with modern, AI-native BI and analytics tools, with a track record of building executive-facing reports and dashboards.
- Excellent communication skills — both written and verbal — with the ability to tell a clear story with data for both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Comfort operating in ambiguity: you ask good questions, make reasonable assumptions explicit, and know when to move forward vs. when to dig deeper.
Nice to Have
- Experience contributing to or building agentic or AI-driven analytics workflows.
- Familiarity with semantic layers or metrics store concepts.
- Experience with dbt or analytics engineering workflows — useful context for collaborating with the team that owns them.
What We Will Give You:
- Competitive annual salary ranging from $81,500-$107,500, reflective of experience and impact.
- Comprehensive benefits package, including extended health, dental, and vision coverage — with 100% of monthly premiums covered by the Spring.
- GRSP matching program to support your long-term financial goals.
- Transit-Friendly Employer (Transit allowance).
- A modern, collaborative workspace in the heart of downtown Vancouver.
- Ongoing career growth opportunities
