The role

Ideal candidates will have a sharp analytical mindset and a desire to turn large, cross-platform datasets into actionable insights. They’ll bring a detail-oriented approach to identifying patterns and anomalies and a collaborative spirit to working with technical and business stakeholders. Whether they’re wrangling logs, analyzing user journeys, or building KPIs for platform performance, they’ll be driven by curiosity and purpose.

Valtech is looking to hire a Senior Data Analyst to join our cross-functional commerce enablement team. This person will partner closely with platform engineers, DevOps leads, and client teams to unlock value from operational, behavioral, and infrastructure data. If you’re passionate about observability, systems analysis, and transforming raw data into clear business insight—read on.

Role responsibilities
  • Analyze cross-platform performance and operational data from tools including ELK, Jenkins, ServiceNow (SNOW), and SFCC/Fluent Commerce/SFMC logs.
  • Build dashboards and reports to track platform uptime, deployment success/failure rates, incident trends, and data anomalies.
  • Translate system logs and alerts into business-impacting insights to support root cause analysis, proactive issue resolution, and optimization.
  • Collaborate with DevOps engineers to refine logging strategies, monitoring metrics, and alert thresholds.
  • Partner with QA, engineering, and delivery teams to design KPIs related to digital commerce health and customer experience.
  • Perform data validation and exploratory analysis on 3rd-party commerce integrations including OpenText DAM, Salsify PIM, and OneTrust.
  • Document findings and lead insight-sharing sessions with stakeholders across engineering, operations, and business teams.
Minimum qualifications

We want all new hires to succeed in their roles at Valtech. That's why we've outlined the job requirements below. To be considered for this role, it's important that you meet all Minimum Qualifications. If you do not meet all of the Preferred Qualifications, we still encourage you to apply.

  • 5+ years of experience working in a data analyst, product analyst, or operational analytics role.
  • Proficient in SQL, with experience querying large or semi-structured datasets (e.g., logs, JSON exports).
  • Seeking deep expertise in one or two major cloud platforms (GCP, Azure, or AWS), with a strong track record of designing, deploying, and managing scalable cloud solutions.
  • Experience using data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, Looker, or Kibana to create compelling, actionable dashboards.
  • Demonstrated experience interpreting system logs, error trends, or deployment metrics.
  • Familiarity with data from DevOps or digital commerce platforms such as SFCC, SFMC, or Fluent Commerce.
  • Ability to communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong documentation and presentation skills.
Preferred qualifications
  • Experience analyzing log data from observability platforms like ELK, Splunk, Datadog, or New Relic.
  • Familiarity with ServiceNow ITSM or other ticketing systems for incident/change data analysis.
  • Background in statistical or exploratory data analysis (EDA) using Python, R, or notebooks (Jupyter, Databricks).
  • Understanding of CI/CD concepts and how they relate to deployment metrics and system health.
  • Exposure to customer journey or funnel analytics using digital analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Heap, or Mixpanel).
