The Cost Controller will develop budgets, monitor project costs, prepare performance reports, and ensure financial accuracy, supporting project lifecycle management.
Progesys is a recognized project management firm specializing in industrial projects and the successful transition from construction to operations. Headquartered in Laval, Canada since 2002, the company also has offices in the United States, the Middle East, Asia, and Latin America.
We are currently looking for a Cost Controller to join our team.
Key Responsibilities :- Develop and update project budgets, cash flow forecasts, and periodic financial reports (monthly, quarterly, and annual)
- Prepare project performance reports (including EAC, ETC, EVMS indicators, cost and schedule variances) in collaboration with the planning team
- Monitor project costs throughout the full project lifecycle, identify variances, and recommend corrective actions
- Consolidate and validate financial data from contractors and subcontractors
- Ensure accuracy of payments, commitments, invoices, and purchase orders
- Act as a liaison between accounting, engineering, and project management teams
- Track and manage scope changes, analyze financial impacts, and integrate approved changes into the budget
- Apply client project control policies and procedures
- Contribute to continuous improvement of cost control tools and processes
- Support financial feasibility assessments and project financial model reviews
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Civil Engineering
- 10 years of experience in cost control within an EPCM environment, ideally in mining or natural resources projects
- Experience with PRISM G2 is an asset
- Strong knowledge of project controls, project accounting, and reporting
- Excellent analytical skills and strong attention to detail
- Ability to make decisions and manage multiple priorities
- Experience working in multidisciplinary teams
- Advanced proficiency in MS Excel (mandatory)
- Knowledge of Primavera and SAP is an asset
- Availability for occasional site travel
