Join the Genesys Cloud Analytics platform team and help shape the future of data-driven customer engagement. As a Data Engineer based in Canada, you’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and maintain robust, Java-based big data solutions that support real-time analytics and performance insights. Your work will power scalable platforms and influence product direction across the Genesys ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and deploy highly available, fault-tolerant software to enhance the performance and scalability of the Genesys Cloud Analytics platform.
- Design and maintain large-scale data pipelines using Java-based frameworks and AWS services (e.g., EMR, S3).
- Collaborate with engineering teams to identify and resolve data pipeline challenges, while advocating for engineering best practices.
- Architect solutions for large-scale data ingestion, storage, and aggregation that serve analytics and operational workloads.
- Create reusable tooling and self-service pipeline frameworks to support internal engineering teams.
- Automate infrastructure using infrastructure-as-code and monitoring best practices for cloud-based systems.
- Support production systems by troubleshooting and resolving live issues efficiently and effectively.
Qualifications:
- Strong software engineering background with experience designing complex systems from the ground up.
- Proficiency in Java (required) with experience in scalable distributed data processing frameworks such as Apache Spark (Java API).
- Solid understanding of data modeling, distributed systems, and stream/batch data processing at web scale.
- Experience working with AWS cloud infrastructure and tools such as EMR, S3, IAM, and Lambda.
- Hands-on experience with orchestration tools like Apache Airflow or equivalent.
- Familiarity with infrastructure automation tools (such as Jenkins, Terraform) and CI/CD practices.
- Product-focused mindset, driven to build impactful systems and reusable engineering tools.
- Commitment to collaboration, problem-solving, and knowledge-sharing across engineering and product teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with large scale data platforms
- Experience with Apache Iceberg or similar technologies.
- Experience working in a fast-paced SaaS product company.
- Understanding of data governance, security, and compliance in cloud environments.
