Role: Senior AI Engineer 

Experience Level: 7+ years experience

Work Location: Canada 

Role Overview:

We are seeking a Senior AI Engineer to work closely with Product and Engineering teams to design, build, and scale autonomous, agent-based AI solutions aligned with business and product objectives. This role focuses on developing production-grade AI agents, agent data types, and pipelines, while enabling robust frameworks and workflows for agent reasoning, function calling, and coordinated actions in secure, enterprise environments.
 

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with Product and Engineering stakeholders to translate product vision and requirements into scalable, autonomous agent-based solutions.

• Design and implement new agent data types, pipelines, and orchestration workflows that enable agent reasoning, function calling, planning, and action coordination.

• Develop, optimize, and maintain autonomous agents using LLMs, planning algorithms, multi-step reasoning, and agent collaboration patterns.

• Build and enhance agent frameworks leveraging industry-standard tools such as LangChain, LlamaIndex, LangGraph, CrewAI, AutoGen, or similar ecosystems.

• Implement enterprise-grade security for agent-based systems, including authentication, role-based access control (RBAC), audit logging, compliance monitoring, and secure secret management.

• Integrate AI agents securely with internal platforms, external APIs, and data sources using secure communication protocols and best practices.

• Partner with platform, cloud, and DevOps teams to ensure reliability, scalability, observability, and performance of AI agent pipelines.

• Contribute to best practices in prompt engineering, model evaluation, and responsible AI adoption.

Basic Qualifications:

• Expert-level proficiency in Python, with strong understanding of frameworks and functional programming principles.

• Hands-on experience designing and implementing LLM-based agent workflows and systems.

• Familiarity with agent and orchestration frameworks such as LangChain, LlamaIndex, LangGraph, CrewAI, AutoGen, or equivalent.

• Proven expertise with Azure AI services and open-source AI/ML frameworks.

• Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in software development, including production-grade systems.

• Experience implementing security at scale, including RBAC, multi-factor authentication (MFA), network security best practices, and compliance monitoring.

Other Qualifications (OQs):

• Strong understanding of Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) patterns, vector databases, and optimization techniques.

• Knowledge of prompt engineering best practices, evaluation frameworks, and model performance tuning.

• Experience building AI systems in regulated or enterprise environments.

• Familiarity with cloud-native architectures, APIs, and distributed systems.
