Job Description:
We are a nationwide mortgage lender specializing in residential and commercial lending. We are hiring for a Senior Accountant who will primarily be responsible for performing daily accounting tasks related to the efficient maintenance and processing of mortgage accounting operations, balance sheet reconciliations, financial reporting, and ad hoc analysis. The individual will work with all departments to conduct the responsibilities associated with mortgage accounting as well as general accounting.
What you’ll do:
- Record the company's monthly funding transactions in the general ledger as well as warehouse advances and settlements in accordance with General Accepted Accounting Principles. Additional reconciliation of warehouse cash accounts is required.
- Ensuing accuracy of the general ledger through detailed general ledger reconciliations, monthly analytical reviews of the P&L, Balance Sheet, and cash flow.
- Assist with the monthly close process which includes allocations, accruals, and cost center reviews.
- Assist with financial reporting which includes branch reporting, KPI reporting, and board reporting and assist with branch manager and partner inquiries.
- Technical accounting research and special projects as assigned.
Who you are:
- Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance. CPA or MBA a plus
- Experience with mortgage industry and accounting in AMB and Loan vision are strongly preferred.
- 4+ years' experience in the professional accounting fields
- Ability to learn and adapt to new software,
- Extensive knowledge in Microsoft Suites
- Proven ability to perform with a high degree of accuracy under tight deadlines and to manage multiple projects.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills; ability to effectively present information and respond to inquiries from groups of managers, employees, vendors, government agents, secondary market partners, and the public.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
- Very high reasoning skills, ability to define problems, collect data establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
