We’re looking for a Senior Accountant to be a part of the Global Controllership team and help us with the accounting and reporting function. Reporting to the Director, Corporate Accounting, this position is responsible for full-cycle accounting, month-end close processes, financial reporting, technical accounting and audit support activities with the finance team, the business, and external service providers.


WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Responsible for effective, efficient and timely month-end close process, including maintenance of the general ledger, preparation and review of variance analysis and other relevant reporting and insights
  • Complete full-cycle accounting, including preparing consolidation processes, journal entries, reconciliations, statements, analysis and schedules
  • Lead the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual consolidated financial statements in a complex, multi-currency environment under US GAAP
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting working papers and supporting schedules
  • Reviews journal entries and prepares analysis related to all major financial statement captions. Reviews less complex analysis to ensure accuracy of financial reporting
  • Assist with interim and year-end audits of financial statements of the group
  • Oversee work of external accountants in preparation of legal entity financial statements and assist with statutory audits
  • Assist with treasury function; facilitate weekly wire runs, day to day banking administrative duties, annually KYC compliance filings
  • Prepare other external reporting tasks including cap tables, and investor reporting
  • Support the Finance team with strategic initiatives, system implementations, integration and other special projects as required
  • Act as a key member of the team in development, implementation, standardization, documentation and improvement of processes and internal controls
  • Guide and mentor junior staff members

WHAT YOU’LL NEED:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting and/or CPA Designation
  • Significant relevant accounting experience, being part of a global team responsible for full cycle accounting and month end close.
  • Experience in 
    • multi-entity consolidation process
    • accounting for foreign currencies 
    • working with teams from other countries which require standalone statutory reporting
    • accounting for complex revenue and cost sharing arrangements
    • questioning the status quo and enacting continuous improvement
  • Experience in reporting to private equity shareholders and lenders is a plus
  • Proficient knowledge of US GAAP
  • Strong knowledge of internal controls and best practice accounting processes
  • Ability to leverage technology and automation to drive process improvement and efficiencies
  • Experience working with various finance systems and tools (experience with NetSuite, Workiva, Zuora, and/or Zip an asset)
