Job DescriptionThe Senior Accountant will be an integral member of our Finance team, supporting various areas including technical accounting and monthly reporting. This role will report to the Senior Manager, Financial Reporting and will own key components of the month-end close process and drive continuous improvement.
This role must be proactive, adaptable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment. The Senior Accountant will also be instrumental in improving reporting accuracy and transparency, thereby enhancing our strategic decision-making capabilities.
Responsibilities:
- Own key components of the 3-day month-end close process, ensuring timeliness and accuracy.
- Liaise with external auditors for various year end engagements and regulatory filings.
- Preparing and posting monthly journal entries, e.g., lease liabilities, bonus accruals, accrued interest
- Research and prepare workings for non-recurring accounting items
- Support the team in implementing processes to improve accuracy, efficiency, and consistency
- Champion the evolution of finance operations by leading process improvements and supporting implementation of new systems.
- Research and prepare strategic ad-hoc analysis as required by Senior Management
About You:
- Professional accounting designation (CPA, CFA, MBA) with an undergraduate degree in Finance or Accounting
- 4+ years of progressive experience in technical accounting, preferably in a Big 4 firm
- Strong knowledge of IFRS; experience in the software/SaaS industry is an asset
- Demonstrated ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced setting
- Highly proficient in Excel and other Office applications; Experience with AI tools for finance is a big advantage
- Strong soft skills including leadership, problem solving, communication, collaboration, and attention to detail
- Curious, growth-oriented, and eager to expand your scope in a high-impact role
