About The Role
Bosa Properties is looking for a Senior Corporate Accountant to join our team of talented real estate professionals. This individual will have a unique opportunity to gain experience in various areas of the department while working with seasoned professionals. The Corporate Accounting team works to provide timely and meaningful financial insights to enable the business to analyze performance and make data-driven decisions.
What You'll Do
- Lead full-cycle accounting and reporting for multiple legal entities, including period-end reporting, preparation of annual ASPE financial statements and note disclosures;
- Ensure appropriate documentation, accounting and reporting of transactions are completed, which may involve understanding of complex legal structures, partnership agreements and setup in our ERP system;
- Analyze and resolve discrepancies in intercompany, elimination and cross-currency transactions;
- Lead the preparation of documents for external audits, including responding to auditor inquiries and requests;
- Take an active role in quarterly management reporting and year end audit processes by preparing assigned schedules;
- Identify opportunities to streamline financial processes and improve reporting accuracy;
- Collaborate with legal, accounts payable, payroll, tax, treasury, development and property accounting groups to ensure accuracy of accounting records and intercompany billings and receipts;
- Review invoices, journal entries, reports, and charges prepared by junior staff to ensure accuracy;
- Train, mentor, and develop team members’ technical capabilities and soft skills, fostering growth in a collaborative environment;
- Develop or assist in broader training programs for the accounting group;
- Additional tasks may be assigned based on capacity and aptitude.
What You Bring
- Post secondary education in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field;
- Professional accounting designation (CPA – CGA/CMA/CA) or successful completion of CPA program;
- Minimum of 4 years of progressive accounting experience at a large, complex organization;
- Comprehensive understanding of accounting principles and standards (ASPE), practices and consolidation procedures;
- Proven ability to prioritize and manage multiple priorities and tasks in an efficient and effective manner;
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively, building strong relationships across the organization;
- Detailed oriented with strong organizational and time management skills;
- Enjoys a fast-paced environment, adapts quickly to new processes, and can manage changing priorities;
- Experience with Yardi Voyager considered an asset;
- Experience with consolidation/elimination accounting considered an asset.
Our salary ranges and bonus percentages are determined by job family and level. Base salary is determined by a combination of factors including, but not limited to, education and training, years of relevant experience, and internal equity.
